In episode 123 of the Man of Screen podcast, Mike Zummo reaches the penultimate episode in his coverage of the Worlds Greatest Superfriends with a look at two more episodes.

First, Superman trades places with an evil Doppelganger from another dimension. Of the two Supermen, which one shows more brainpower? What happens to our Superman when he visits the “Universe of Evil”?

Then, were going to go under the water for an adventure with Captain Nemoy.

Guess what? He wants to sink continents in a “real estate scheme”? Where have we heard something like this before?

Superman is largely absent from this episode and it begs the question. What exactly are he and Wonder Woman doing on Saturn? And what role does the Bottle City of Kandor play in all this?

What happens when we face “The Terror at 20,000 Fathoms”?

Next time: Mike finishes his coverage of the Worlds Greatest Superfriends with “The Superfriends Meet Frankenstein” and “The Planet of Oz”.

A Fine Happy St. Patties Day to ya my friends.

And on a fine day such as this, what is best to do while knocking back a mug of your favorite green beverage? Thats right, listen to a podcast about John Byrne! And while there are not a lot of John Byrne stories about little men in green, there are several stories about a really big guy in orange fur.

What does that have to do with St. Patties Day? NOTHING!

But seeing as we have many fans of Alpha Flight, we just didnt think we could wait any longer in getting some Alpha Flight under our belt, podcast-wise.

So 3rd Degree Byrne will be covering the EPIC battle between Sasquatch and The Super Skrull! Waitaminnute, there is a Green Guy after all. Who knew?

Anyway, sit back, pull up some green beer and enjoy as 3rdDegree Byrne covers Alpha Flight #10.

All this and a back-up story too.

The Byrne-Outs also discuss upcoming news in the world of John Byrne, the latest movies, conventions and maybe that one night in Madrid with Frank Gorshin. Wait, that was Adam West, not us. Oh, well.

But, if you listen carefully, you might find a way to meet John Byrne and the 3rdDegree Byrne team at the same time. Its all here!!

11 episodes and a wake-up are left!

This time around, I take a break from comic book coverage to look at another book and film about the Vietnam War, Born on the Fourth of July. I start by looking at Ron Kovic's autobiography about his time in Vietnam as well as his recovery from the injuries that paralyzed him and journey toward being an antiwar activist. Then, I take a quick look at the first movie that was inspired by Kovic's story, 1978's Coming Home, which stars Jane Fonda, Jon Voight, and Bruce Dern. Finally, I look at Oliver Stone's 1989 adaptation of Born on the Fourth of July, which stars Tom Cruise.

Dave jumps back to a classic era of Daredevil to find out what happens when Hawkeye of The Avengers arrives in San Francisco to profess his love for The Black Widow.

In the first of a two-part tale, we see The Man Without Fear get his feathers ruffled by a rival for Natasha's affections.

But, The Avengers have an offer that Daredevil can't refuse, and it will change the course of his relationship with The Black Widow as Dave looks at Daredevil #99.

(Note: This episode was briefly available as an alternate version of Episode 88. It has been amended and represented to make sure the DDP audience is able to enjoy it in context with upcoming coverage.)
