Two True Freaks

Its September and that means its time for the return of the Man of Screen Podcast.

In episode 71, Mike Zummo is going to start his 17-week coverage of The New Adventures of Superman animated cartoon of the late 1960s. It also will include the Superboy segments that aired in between two Superman segments.

So, get ready for this phase of the podcast as Mike begins with a brief intro into the series and then comes back with the following Superman Segments, “The Force Phantom”, The “Mermen of Emor”, “The Prehistoric Pterodactyls” and “Merlins Magic Marbles”. Also the Superboy story, “The Spy From Outer Space” parts 1 and 2.

Find out what Mike really thinks of this animated series and see how much he can appreciate the sound of Bud Collyers voice.

Next time: Mike will cover “The Threat of the Thrutans”, The Wicked Warlock”, “The Chimp Who Made It Big” and “The Deadly Icebergs”. He also will cover the Superboy stories, “Kryptos Calamitous Capers” and “The Man Who Knew Superboys Secret”.

In this week's ball-scaring episode, the hurricane is over and Magnus continues looking back at the second issue of different titles with a look back at The Spectre #02.

But before getting into that, His Excellency blows the dust off Radio Free Isengard with some thoughts on The Hobbit films.

You won't believe what Magnus thinks The Spectre's voice should sound like!

So what are you waiting for? Start listening right away or else you'll get swallowed in the Spectre's vengeance or something.

Due to the avalanche of awesomeness, there's just no time for listener feedback this week. But Magnus has slowly been getting caught up lately. There's been some feedback recently so don't be left out! You too can offer your feeble effort at tribute whenever you want! Yes indeed, you humble serfs are always welcome to kiss your benevolent leader's ring. Corrupt DiManzocorp interns are ready, willing, able and eager to accept your bribe to present your meager missives to your wise emperor. The email address to use is [email protected] as the other seems to be having technical problems.

In an another sublime act of truly ball-shriveling magnanimity, your emperor permits you lowly rabble to suggest topics for a future episode. Thus, requests may be sent to [email protected] for the aforementioned corrupt DiManzocorp interns (who probably lack souls) to review, whereupon your leader might consider thinking about the possibility of potentially discussing whatever you have in mind some day. And that's a promise!

First, Scott and the Hair Metal Hero bring you there thoughts on this new version of Spidey recorded mere days after release. Does it have the Lee/Dikto vibe from Spideys deep past?
