  • Origin Story Episode 10
In the tenth episode of Origin Story, I head on over to Marvel's Distinguished Competition to check out an early FCTC-era Superman story with Adventures of Superman #428. I review the comic, gush about Jerry Ordway's art (because you have to), ship Clark Kent and Cat Grant, and reveal that I didn't realize when I was nine years old that the hostage on the cover of the comic was actually a guy (sorry Jerry--both of you). Also, I talk about how I remember buying this comic, which includes a story that will embarrass my sister ... which is always a bonus.
Please don't forget to leave feedback at the Pop Culture Affidavit Facebook page and check out Pop Culture Affidavit for the show notes.

  • Tangents Abound #20 - The Tangents Return
The very first episode of Tangents Abound on the TTF network and I am so very proud and thankful to be a part of the DiManzo family. By the way, I was told there would be canolli...and I can't find any. I'm assuming the delivery guy just got lost. The rest of the Tangents will be coming just as soon as Harley...just listen to the show and you'll find out who that is... gets off the moving boxes. I'll still be using my old Libsyn feed for my old friends for the time being but I can't wait to make new ones here! Also for anyone curious..all Tangents are family friendly and safe for all listeners...sometimes we go PG-13 but that's the highest...I promise. Also, I kind of make an announcement that I'm on the feed at the end of the episode that could possibly cause deafness so you may want to turn the volume down at about 3 or 4 minutes left.
In this episode, there will be listener feedback, lots of tea drinking...kind of a running theme for me, and then a WHOLE LOT of Batman talk! I go into what I love the most about the character, why Robin is such an important part of his story, and even tangent off into Spider-Man territory for a bit! Oh it's good to be back...but since this is the first episode here...I guess arrive?... and I can't wait to hear from all of my friends both old and new!
Feedback for the show can be sent to [email protected] or on Twitter at @ahenley2011. Also if you could please leave me an Itunes review to let me know how I'm doing and what I need to work on, I'd greatly appreciate it!

  • In Country: Marvel Comics' "The 'Nam" -- Episode 78
The finale of the second three-part "Punisher Invades The 'Nam" and Chuck Dixon's last issue of the series takes us through the end of Iceman's story about Frank Castle's time in country, with plenty of action, as Frank defends a firebase and confronts the colonel who may or may not know about the shady things that have led to his fellow soldiers' deaths. It's "Down to the Ground" by Chuck Dixon, Kevin Kobasic, adn Jimmy Palmiotti in The 'Nam #69.
I take a look at the issue and reflect on the overall Punisher storyline and also look at the historical background for January and February of 1972.

  • Episode 189- Weird Stuff- He Will Not Divide Us- Bigly Edition (with Chris Honeywell!)
In this week's ball-bigly episode, Magnus is rejoined by Chris Honeywell to kick off Weird Stuff, the replacement for the Big Book Report as the 7th episode feature.
In this week's adventure, Honeywell and Magnus talk about Shia the Beef's He Will Not Divide Us performance art project.
At least, that was the plan.
What ended up actually happening was that Honeywell and Magnus gave it last rites because the project was cancelled less than a week after recording. Yeah, apparently it's back now in the desert. But it's gone, let's be realistic.
But for one brief, shining, bigly moment, He Will Not Divide Us was a cascade of trolling, counter-trolling, idiotic chants, racist chants, incoherent chants and more web-cam crap-show insanity than you could ever hope to shake a stick at.
In the course of conversation, Magnus and Honeywell analyze the finer points of performance art and offer relevant critiques to the Beef.
All this and Honeywell recounts some of his adventures from college.
So what more do you need? Unless you want the Beef to scream in your face, start listening now!
Due to the blitzkrieg of badassitude this week, unfortunately there's just no time for listener feedback this week. But don't cry about it, some is coming in the future!
So dry your eyes! Use the time wisely! This would be an opportune time to send in any feedback you may have as the vault could get totally cleared out of feedback in the relatively near future. So get to writing!
In the meantime, though, don't let the lack of feedback this time get you down! You can still offer your feeble effort at tribute! You humble serfs are always welcome to kiss your benevolent leader's ring. Corrupt DiManzocorp interns are ready, willing, able and eager to accept your bribe to present your meager missives to your wise emperor. The email address to use is [email protected] as the other seems to be having technical problems.
In an another sublime act of truly unprecedented charity, your emperor permits you lowly rabble to suggest topics for a future episode. Thus, petitions may be sent to [email protected] for DiManzocorp interns to review, whereupon your leader might consider thinking about the possibility of potentially discussing whatever you have in mind some day. And that's a promise!
