Two True Freaks

The fina chapter of our great movie countdown!!! Paul, Bill and Scott look at the top six comic movies of all time, as voted by you, the listeners! What made the cut? Which movie is numero uno?? Listen in and find out!

David Pascarella is back for the triumphant 20th episode to help Chris and Scott review the brand spanking new DC comics based comedy Powerless. Set in Wayne Securities in Charm City, Powerless follows new Director of R+D Emily as she tries to rally a team that hates her to make the next big thing in civilian super battle protection gadgets. Did our triumphant trio like this Easter egg filled look into the normals in the DC universe? You'll have to tune in to find out. Also, a bonus review of the new Riverdale show that does interesting things with our beloved Archie and the gang characters. Also, Scott gives his impressions on the third of the new Legion pilot he watched (Finished it. It's really good. Watch it!). So sit back and ponder the question: "How hard does a show have to work to make Alan Tudyk unlikable?" You don't need to be the World's Greatest Detective to do it, just carve out 45 minutes and we'll tell you!

Hey everybody, Magnus here. I do a show called Trentus Magnus Punches Reality wherein I talk about comics, movies and TV shows.

But let's cut the crap, okay? Mostly I spend my time talking about comics because comics are my first love.

So, beginning in March 2017, Ima change things up a little bit. I'll be joined by Rebecca Johnson to talk about Harry Potter movies. Three. Three Harry Potter movies. Rebecca Johnson will be joining in to discuss the Sorcerer's Stone, the Chamber of Secrets and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

But that's not all that's going on. Also joining is Professor Alan to talk about the three Chris Nolan Batman movies. Yes indeedy, we're hashing through Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises.

Six episodes, six movies, two guest hosts, one regular host (which is to say *ME*, Magnus).

The fun starts on March 7, 2017.

Only at Two True Freaks dot com. Or iTunes. Or whichever obscure Japanese web page that syndicates my show without my authorization for some reason. I don't really have a problem with that. It's just kinda weird, that's all I'm saying.

But whatever. Six movies! Harry Potter & the Sorcerer's Stone, Batman Begins, Harry Potter & the Chamber of Secrets, The Dark Knight, Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban and The Dark Knight Rises.

You got that this megaseries is starting in March, right? Just making sure.

The silver age begins for The Caped Crusaders, in their first outing under the editorial stewardship of Julius Schwartz, and featuring the art of Carmine Infantino.

Our tale comes from the pages of Detective Comics #327, and features an unexpected turn of events where a common thief is able to overpower the Dynamic Duo.

Join Dave for his first journey into the Dave Dave, and the pages of Batman and Robin‘s silver age tales.

Join Hope Mullinax and Chris Honeywell for a 24 CARAT CLASS episode of JAIG EYES & JEDI! This week's episode of Star Wars - The Clone Wars is the fourth episode of the third season - SPHERE OF INFLUENCE! In this episode - CREEPIEST YODA YET - BLUE LUCAS - GROSS NEIMODIAN MOUTHS - GENE'S NEW SONG - NIGHT MANAGER OF PANERA - STINKY RETURNS THEN LEAVES FOREVER - GREEDO KNOWS ENGLISH - and last, but by no means least - GOATMAN!!!!

It's the last of the Supergirl season one recaps for a while, but special guest Aaron Henley teams up with Chris and Scott for some good ones. In episode thirteen Kara gets to relive one of her famous cousin's greatest stories from the comics as she falls victim to the Black Mercy and has to fight her own greatest wish, to be with her Kryptonian family, to survive. Also, as Kara sleeps and dreams the conflict with Non and Astra escalates quickly and in this issue SOMEBODY DIES!!! Episode fourteen finds our heroes struggling with questions about the meanings of truth, justice and the American way as James questions some of the DEO's more extra-Constitutional jailing practices. Coincidentally enough, the Master Jailer is going around cutting off the heads of Fort Rozz prisoners and Supergirl has to stop him (Duh, it's kind of her thing). So join us for those thrilling days of....um, last year and settle in for some tangents and comic TV talk. Bingestorm and Tangent Boy to the Man Cave!

In this week's ball-haunting episode, because Professor Alan said it was okay, Magnus finally reads and talks about a comic that's been on the ol' wishlist for a long time now.

No kidding, boys and girls, the John Ostrander/Tom Mandrake Spectre series has been on His Excellency's list of subjects since day one. But it was never the right time to talk about it before.

But now it's the right time!

Magnus takes a long, leisurely look at The Spectre #01 from December 1992 and it's intense! Did he love it? Hate it? Completely forget it? There's only one way to find out for sure!

Because, um, saying so here would defeat the entire purpose of recording a podcast about this comic book in the first place, wouldn't it?

Due to the barrage of badassery this week, unfortunately there's just no time for listener feedback this week. But don't cry about it because there was some not long ago and there'll be more in the future!

Dry your eyes! Feedback will be addressed in just a few weeks. As a matter of fact, several upcoming episodes will feature feedback sections.

Still, this would be an opportune time to send in any feedback you may have as the vault could get totally cleared out of feedback in the relatively near future. So get to writing!

In the meantime, though, don't let the lack of feedback this time get you down! You can still offer your feeble effort at tribute! You humble serfs are always welcome to kiss your benevolent leader's ring. Corrupt DiManzocorp interns are ready, willing, able and eager to accept your bribe to present your meager missives to your wise emperor. The email address to use is [email protected] as the other seems to be having technical problems.

In an another sublime act of truly unprecedented charity, your emperor permits you lowly rabble to suggest topics for a future episode. Thus, petitions may be sent to [email protected] for DiManzocorp interns to review, whereupon your leader might consider thinking about the possibility of potentially discussing whatever you have in mind some day. And that's a promise!

In episode 50 of The Man of Screen podcast, Mike Zummo celebrates reaching 50 episodes with a brief thank you to you the listener, without which this milestone would not have been possible.

Then its to business as we head to a cottage by the sea. As it turns out, its Perry Whites cottage and hes showing off his new hobby. SCIENCE!!! And deciphering ancient documents?

What did Perry learn to make out of regular seawater? And why did it require he take 2 months off the Daily Planet? And why cant the government take care of this? And what exactly does “top secret” mean to Jimmy?

Perhaps it will just create a “Peril by Sea”.

Then the world is going to literally get turned upside down as we meet Professor Pepperwinkle and the first invention he will show off to the Daily Planet staff. What can he use this machine for? Shouldnt he have thought of that before spending three years on this invention?

But what does this have to do with the

Next time: Jack Larson will play a dual role in "Jimmy the Kid" and then we will meet "The Girl Who Hired Superman"

This time around, Paul once again sits around with the Jaconetti boys, Jason and Luke to talk some classic monster movies with the big one: Godzilla. How has it held up to the test of time? Was it affected by the editing of new American footage? Is it great? IS IT JAWS?
