My guest on today's show is Ty Muse, President & CEO of Visions Federal Credit Union. Ty was the recipient of the Pete Crear Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s annual AACUC Conference. He shares two advantages of receiving this award at a young age and how it presents greater opportunities to people in the industry. Ty shares that the start of his credit union career journey was all about helping. He discusses the future of the movement and emphasizes the most important product, our people.

During our conversation, Ty expresses the significance of culture and community when attracting and retaining talent. When adding a new member to his team, Ty looks for one key attribute that makes a huge difference. He expresses his excitement when it comes to mentoring and sharing knowledge with others to continuously build and grow the credit union movement. He gives insights on what it takes to be a good leader and finds value in learning from other leaders in the industry as well.

Ty and I chat about the greatest investment he’s made in his career and how it set the tone for his future. He shares the importance of being transparent with the board to create trust and allow for diversity of thoughts. Throughout the episode, Ty also talks about communication and giving feedback along with how he feels grateful to be in this position to help people achieve their dreams every day.
