April 13:

In this edition of UBC "Sermon Discussions" Jason and Jesse talk with the students that preached from John 14:1-6—I Am: The Way, and The Truth, and The Life

Questions discussed in this episode:

Why is it a good thing that Jesus claims that he is the only Way?

Why is it such a grace that as Christ followers we know without doubt that Jesus is the absolute truth?

We live in a world with many different religions that believe and teach that there are others than Jesus who give LIFE. Why is Jesus’ claim that he is Life so important to believe, accept, and share with others?

Last year the youth group went on a mission trip within our country and had the opportunity to share the gospel with a group of people who don’t believe Jesus is the only way, the only truth, and the only way to life. How can Jesus’ claim in John 14:1-6 be used to share the gospel with others and why is it important to teach Jesus’ as the way, the truth, and the life to others?

John 3:16-17 says that God did not send his Son into this world to condemn the world. That is speaking of when Jesus first came to this world.  What does the Bible say Jesus will do when he comes again?

April 13th:

In week five of our “I Am” series, we began Holy Week by celebrating Palm Sunday with services led by our Family Ministry. During this sermon, we focused on John 14:6, where Jesus states, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life.” Three of our students shared insights on each part of this statement, facilitated by Bryson Jackson, our resident church planter.

April 6:

In this edition of UBC "Sermon Discussions" Jason discusses questions from his sermon on John 8:12-20—I Am: The Light of the World

Main Claim: In a world full of darkness, the light of life is found in Jesus

Questions discussed in this episode:

In your sermon you defined Light and Dark. Is there such a thing as a Dim (not bright - an in-between) light?

In what areas have you seen today's church adjust their eyesight to dark things in this world?

You said that "You can be walking in darkness even when you are devoted to religion." Is being devoted to religion wrong?

What are some practical ways we can shine the light of Jesus in our everyday lives?
