Thousands of UC San Diego workers are set to go on strike for 48 hours today as part of a statewide overlapping picket across all UC campuses. A man is in custody after El Cajon officers found a dead woman inside the trunk of a car following a police chase that ended in a three-vehicle crash on Tuesday. A plan is now moving forward to possible clear out homeless encampments in an effort to prevent brush fires.
