From the USS Nimitz Encounter (2004) On November 14, 2004, aboard the USS Princeton, a crucial part of the formidable USS Nimitz carrier strike group, an extraordinary event unfolded. Radar screens lit up with the presence of an enigmatic craft located a staggering 100 miles off the coast of San Diego. What's more, this was no isolated incident. For a full two weeks leading up to this pivotal moment, the crew had been diligently tracking anomalous objects that would materialize at 80,000 feet, only to abruptly plunge and linger just above the tranquil surface of the vast Pacific Ocean.

As anticipation mounted, the stage was set for an encounter that defied explanation. As two FA-18F fighter jets were dispatched from the mighty aircraft carrier USS Nimitz to investigate the peculiar sighting, what greeted their eyes was beyond anyone's wildest imagination. Initially, the scene appeared to be an area of turbulent water, characterized by an eerie shadow resembling an oval shape just beneath the surface. However, within mere moments, the inexplicable unfolded—a gleaming white, Tic Tac-shaped object emerged from the depths and hovered above the water's surface.

Intriguingly, this craft bore no discernible markings, offered no hints of an engine, wings, or windows, and baffled infrared monitors that failed to detect any exhaust. The encounter intensified as Black Aces Commander David Fravor and Lt. Commander Jim Slaight of Strike Fighter Squadron 41 courageously attempted to intercept the elusive object. Yet, as if mocking the laws of physics, the craft accelerated away at a bewildering pace, reappearing on radar a bewildering 60 miles distant. Its movements defied all expectations, racing at three times the speed of sound, and surpassing the fighter jets' capabilities by more than twice their maximum velocity.
