One of the most cringe-worthy verses to me is Proverbs 31. Am I allowed to say that? I've heard it recited on Mother's Day. I've seen it be hashtag goals on the internet. I feel like all I ever see is a laundry list of traits a woman must possess in order to be worthy of love and praise. Even in the checkout line I'm supposed to be interested in the 5 things that drive a man crazy. Call me crazy but I think I've managed to do that all on my own by just being a woman from Venus. Can I get an amen?

Trigger warning: Panic Attacks and Mental Health

If God is the great physician why are people still suffering with pain. What if you struggle with depression or mental health your whole life? Is there room for faith and chronic mental illness?

As a Christian I think it's understandable when you hear me say that well - sometimes Christians are the worst. I've seen a lot, I've heard a lot, and I've had to let a lot go.

While I still love my church and think most Christians are generally good people - I also think it would be unfair to let some major pain points go undiscussed. When you grow up in the church you can often hear a lot of the same things be said or watch the same things be done and so here I am breaking it all down for you in 15 minutes. Why? Well I want to encourage my fellow followers to challenge some of those behaviors. I also think if you're not a Christian - there's a possibility you've experienced this anyway by a friend or family member and we can all sit back, listen and have a laugh.
