For over a decade, Brooke has had a number of outstanding performance opportunities in her professional career. She has opened for national and international recording artists and entertainers such as The Whispers, Mint Condition, Peabo Bryson, Najee (Nah-G), Will Downing, India.Arie, Tony, Toni, Tone`, Robin Thicke, Bo Bice, LeAnn Rimes, The Temptations Review, Marion Meadows, Paul Taylor, and Comedians Paul Mooney and the late Dick Gregory. EARLY LIFE

Surrounded by creativity from birth in Aberdeen, North Carolina, Brooke’s Mother, Dell Alford (who is a retired music educator and piano instructor), and her Father, Dr. Vernon Alford Jr. (who is a retired educator, author, and visual artist), nurtured her and her two siblings' fascinations with music and the arts from an early age. Dr. Larry Cuban is a former high school social studies teacher (14 years), district superintendent (7 years) and university professor (20 years). He has published op-ed pieces, scholarly articles and books on classroom teaching, history of school reform, how policy gets translated into practice, and teacher and student use of technologies in K-12 and college.

Recent research projects have been a study of school reform in Austin (TX) 1954-2009, a large comprehensive high school in Mapleton (CO) being converted into several small ones between 2001-2009, and how structural change in U.S. schools over the past century have had little effect in altering how teachers teach.

Larry is the author of over 25 books, including his most recent books, Inside the Black Box of Classroom Practice: Change without Reform in American Education (2013) and Teaching History Then and Now; A Story of Stability and Change in Schools (2016).

United States Army. I attended Cal Poly Pomona and received a B.S. in marketing and international business while struggling to regain my sense of purpose and mission driven mentality. After finishing my undergrad degree I still could not find my place and joined a government contracting company called Constellis Group, which is paramilitary security force out of Virginia. Drifting back home, I found my way back to a university to finish my educational veteran benefits and attended the University of Redlands. I obtain my MBA in marketing and finance and found my purpose, TO HELP VETERANS in anyway that I can. My co-founder and I started an organization called Tent Hut with a non-profit and a for-profit sections that is seeking to help veterans in the exact mental state that I was in, not knowing our place, we call this “The Veteran Drifter”. We believe that our proactive approach to veteran issues will prevent many subsequent barriers that all veterans face while adjusting.
