Join Michael Litten and his guests Jerome Rand and Lauren Hokin.
Growing up in Northern Michigan, Jerome Rand had a late start in the world of sailing. It wasn’t until the age of 18 that sailing became the main focus of his life. First teaching sailing on the small inland lakes and then venturing out on yacht deliveries from the Caribbean to the Mediterranean. On one trip to the BVI he was introduced to the Bitter End Yacht Club and found himself working with the watersports center for the next 9 years.

Lauren Hokin, Owner
Bitter End Yacht Club
Lauren learned how to sail, drive boats, and explore the undersea world in and around North Sound, Virgin Gorda. She, and her brother Justin, could often be found venturing out on sailboards, sunfish, and Optis, sometimes ending up downwind at Gun Creek or someplace else along the south shore of North Sound hoping for a rescue. “At home” in Connecticut, Lauren spent summers sailing in her local club’s junior program and later, she sailed competitively in college at Northwestern University on cold and windy Lake Michigan.
