So here’s your trivia question of the day.  What do College Station, Texas… and Paducah, Kentucky have in common?

The answer?  On Saturday, bot cities played host to John Calipari of the Kentucky Wildcats.

Just a few hours after his UK squad squeaked out a double overtime victory against Texas A&M, Cal had relocated to Paducah to watch possible recruits Malik Newman, Thon Maker, Josh Jackson and others in McCracken County’s ‘Mustang Madness’.  Add to that, that UK signee Skal Labissiere was also playing in Paducah and you had quite the recruiting trip.

Cats are back at Rupp tomorrow night where they’ll take on Missouri.  They’ll have a special guest for the game tomorrow.  Tai Wynyard is a 6 foot 9 inch power forward from New Zealand and is considering playing in the US.  He arrived in Lexington yesterday and will visit Texas and Villanova while in the US.

Area action over the weekend saw Murray State beat Jacksonville Sunday afternoon 84-57, Western Kentucky over Old Dominion 72 -65 in Bowling Green, and Austin Peay loses to Tennessee Tech Saturday night 72 – 56.

An honor for UK’s football team over the weekend.  Didn’t involve playing, but the website Uniformswag named UK’s South Carolina uniform the “Uni of the Year” award for best uniform.

You may recall that uniform as being primarily black with royal blue accents and chrome helmets.

UK beat out a dozen or more teams including Navy, Notre Dame, Oregon, Illinois, Texas Tech, Arizona State, Miami, North Carolina, Louisville and Baylor.

Canucks are in Smashville Tuesday night to take on the Preds.  Nashville back on top in the Central Division now with a 28 – 9 and 4 record.

And we’re down to our final four teams vying for the Super Bowl.  Green Bay and Seattle will meet for the NFC Championship and Indianapolis and New England will play for the AFC Championship.
