Usually I write the podcast show notes but I’ve been putting it off cause I just don’t even know what to say. (And hi - this is Cat.) The whole point of the podcast show notes is for them to live on the UPP Blog so the SEO Gods will work in our favor. But how does that work on something so personal? Should I start spewing keywords about Anxiety, ADHD, prescription meds, holistic healing, just to pop up in the Google search? And not gonna lie… not sure I even want people to listen to this episode! However, this RIGHT HERE is the kind of stuff that is SO REAL & RAW in running a business, and simply being a human, that often doesn’t get talked about. Cause you don’t want people on the internet to think you’re “weird”. 

We talk the talk of being vulnerable & authentic, so we continue to walk the walk. And maybe the majority finds this episode relatable, or maybe it’s only 1 person. But even if only one person felt a little less alone after listening to this UPP podcast episode - it’s all worth it. 

The “I’m so perfect” ERA is over. Real people have real feels and real struggles. So we’re keepin’ it real. Doesn’t mean we’re stepping into the “I’m a dumpster fire” ERA either!

Ohhhh boy! Buckle up, baby! On today’s episode of the Ultimate Product Party Podcast we’re sharing with you one of our favorite parts of UPP 2023 in Nashville - the Anonymous Panel! This panel was something Allison super wanted to do and Cat participated in begrudgingly, but it honestly turned out to be such an honest, raw, and impactful part of the entire event. 

Basically… we gave people the opportunity to leave questions anonymously in a little pink lock box. Then we read this questions on stage in front of the entire audience for the first time and gave whatever honest answer came to our minds right on the fly. There were some business questions, money questions, relationship questions, and even questions about our underwear.

We’re back from a little summer hiatus, but believe us when we say that A LOT has been going on behind the Ultimate Product Party scenes! 

Traveling to meet up and dream and scheme big plans for UPP in August is starting to become our yearly thing - 3 years running! Crazy right?! And there is nothing we look forward to more!!

On this week’s episode we’re taking you along the crazy adventure of our trip to Los Angeles and Orange County to visit a bunch of venues. From getting locked out of our Airbnb, what’s it like to travel together and manage different personalities, our Taylor Swift experience, how Beverly Hills psychic said there’s a baby on the way, and oh yeah… all the different venues. We’re sharing our actual thought process on the strategy of picking and venue that will be the perfect spot to cater to our UPP attendees and give them the coolest, most unique experience from year to year EVER!!

When we were thinking of who would be the emcee for UPP 2023 we knew it would be Hilary - long before we even knew we would be bringing the party to Nashville! Today we’re keeping it casual, and even a little goofy, as we chat about randomness but also doubts, concerns, what worked (and what didn’t) for 2022, what we’re most excited about for 2023. It’s never a dull moment when Hilary is around so giddy up cause Hilary’s taking us all for a WILD ride!

We talk all the time on what it looks like for us, Cat & Allison, to be business partners with Ultimate Product Party. But as busy moms who are running multiple businesses this absolutely cannot happen without doing the work at home first - with our individual partners, a.k.a. - our husbands.

Today we’re talking about how we’re able to run our own successful businesses on top of building a business together, Ultimate Product Party. It’s not easy and it can be SUPER DIFFICULT to not expect our husbands to be mind readers, but it’s absolutely necessary if we want to grow & scale our businesses and be thriving women outside of wearing the mom, business owner, and wife hat.

Bragging on our husbands today for being so great, and sharing how we both work in our relationships with our husband’s to work as a TEAM. Cheesy as it sounds, teamwork - really does make the dream work. And happy life = happy life, and any other cliche you want to add here, we’re totally here for it because it’s likely true.

Time to bust out the beakers and sexy lab coats because we’re talking all about EXPERIMENTS today! 

Not 7th grade science experiments, but treating your BUSINESS as one big, giant experiment. 

One of the reasons we have had ANY success in either of our separate businesses, in addition to owning Ultimate Product Party together, has been because we have always been open to the idea of experimenting. It’s not always an easy mindset to have, but it’s definitely something you need to keep in the back of your mind as you’re putting in the long days of hard work to grow & scale your business. 

When sales are slow… or you’re burnt out - it’s time to experiment with trying new things. 

Not loving the social media rat race?? Time to experiment with other platforms to create content and get the word out about your products or services! 

At the end of the day, if you aren’t experimenting, you’re missing out on a ton of opportunities that could be coming your way. And sometimes, no matter how long you’ve been a business owner, you still need to be reminded to continue experimenting to keep the momentum going.
