In this episode, Kurt Shaye and I talk about some of the concepts he shares in his book, The Addiction Fiction. Kurt challenges mainstream thinking, nudging us toward a deeper truth that abolishes our old, outdated narratives, which keep us locked in a disempowered place.
The Addiction Fiction by Kurt Shaye is an unflinching exploration of the human desire to cling—whether to substances, relationships, or identities that promise comfort but ultimately trap us. Through a narrative that blends raw personal experience with sharp philosophical inquiry, Shaye dismantles the conventional narrative of addiction, arguing that what we call "addiction" is often a euphemism for attachment. Drawing from his personal experiences with various substances, he explores how they evolved in his life—from initial escapes to reflective mirrors, and ultimately as catalysts for personal growth.

It's easy to feel like you are an imposter when you are just getting started in a new endeavour. Self-doubt is something all of us have experienced over the years. However, if we stop ourselves from doing what our hearts call us to do because of our self-doubt, we have crossed a healthy threshold with our fears and doubts about ourselves. Leaning into something new can be an exciting journey of discovery that leads us to our greatest joy.

My dear friend Beth Silva dropped by to share a conversation with me about the topic of authenticity. This word has come up in many of my conversations with others, and I think there is an underlying truth to finding our authenticity. Being authentic is about discovering who you are and having the courage to express yourself without fear of what others think or feel about you. #NedBurwell #hunahealingcenter #BethSilva #beingauthentic #beyourself

She discovered that there were many extraordinary ways in which we all can heal. Today, her mission is to help facilitate this healing journey with those she works with, and help each person to rediscover their ‘Healthy Self.”
