They told me I was mad when I suggested there might be a race of evil magic-using serpent men living underneath Providence, Rhode Island. Well who's mad now?! Join me as I break down the Call of Cthulhu scenario "The Darkness Beneath the Hill" for players and keepers, then discuss the scenario with my player Rachel who is dabbling in Call of Cthulhu for the first time! This episode is sure to make your organ moan!

Hello everyone, this is Meaghan. I know it’s been quite a while since I uploaded new content here, but that’s because I’ve been busy producing content for the Dragonlance Canticle podcast, owned and operated by the Dragonlance Nexus. If you want to listen to what I’ve been up to over there, just click here: The Dragonlance Canticle Podcast.
Since I took over that podcast, creating more Dragonlance content here seems a bit redundant. Therefore, I’ve decided to take this show in a new direction. Going forward, this show will be dedicated to horror gaming, meaning Ravenloft and Call of Cthulhu to start, but hopefully branching off into other games like Vampire and Alien RPG in the future. I’m planning to include segments on horror movies, novels, and video games as well.
In the meantime, I am going to be releasing the three patreon-exclusive episodes I recorded previously, starting with the Magic the Gathering novel “The Brothers' War” by Jeff Grubb.
And don’t forget, you can always listen to my history podcast “Death Zone” if you just can’t get enough of me. I currently have a six part series available on the first expeditions to summit Mount Everest, the disappearance of world-renowned climber George Mallory, and the theories surrounding his last days, including my own analysis of whether he might have submitted Everest thirty years before Edmund Hillary and Tenzig Norgay. You can find the link here: Death Zone Podcast.
Lastly, I am now running paid weekly games of D&D at Startplaying.games/gm/MissMeaghanJ using Foundry as my virtual tabletop. If you’re interested in playing D&D with me, please email me directly at [email protected] or contact me on Twitter or Instagram at MissMeaghanJ.
Thank you all for your support and I hope you’ll continue along with me down this new road.

What every Dragonlance fan has been waiting for has arrived! Well, sort of. It's an Unearthed Arcana titled "Heroes of Krynn", which has led Dragonlance die-hards to speculate that we may at long last be getting an official Dragonlance 5th Edition sourcebook. In this episode, I'll discuss the difficulties in translating the Dragonlance lore into 5th Edition as well as take a close look at the UA itself. Then I'll ask the big question: do we need a new Dragonlance setting book?

In our previous episode, the goddesses traveled from the town of Proskur to the village of Gloomwall, under the shadow of the Sunset Mountains. Here they hoped to find the entrance to the Pool of Memory. Along the way, they encountered a party of Chainers who were pursuing them on a warrant of starting a riot in the city of Westgate. After "dispatching" the Chainers, the goddesses reached Gloomwall only to discover their way under the mountains blocked by an enchanted door. The only person with access is the Elkabe, high priestess of a nameless goddess known only as "The Spider". Now the goddesses travel into the Sunken Forest to find her...
[Note: Due to audio mistakes which were completely my fault, we lost the audio for our second session, which means Episode 2 is actually our THIRD session.] In Westgate, the goddesses found Sandrine, a disciple of the Raven Queen, who informed them of a mysterious shrine called the Pool of Memory, where they might find answers about their past. After picking up a new comrade, a rogue named Dendar, they sailed across the Lake of Dragons, past the toppled statue of a mysterious sea goddess, and reached the town of Proskur. The town was holding a wizard conference, leaving our adventurers without a place to stay. During the night, Dendar experienced a frightening vision of a winged man, which triggered a wave of nightmares across the town, causing the sleeping wizards to summon creatures from their dreams. After putting an end to the chaos, the goddesses met a tiefling bookseller, who guided them to the town of Gloomwall beside the Sunset Mountains.

What is Critical Role? Why is everyone talking about it? What is a Vox Machina? I invited Shardae of the Slovenly Trulls podcast, who happens to be a certified* Critical Role expert on to the podcast to discuss the world’s most popular tabletop livestream game – how it all started, what has made it such a huge hit, and what impact it’s had on gaming and media. It’s everything you wanted to know about Critical Role but were afraid to ask. (*not a real thing)

In case you’re wondering what this strange show is on your playlist, I have chosen to rebrand “D and D Bookclub” as “Unaligned”! I want to expand beyond Dungeons and Dragons and beyond books (although I’ll still be producing the classic content you know and love.) I just felt the show name was too limiting for this expansive new era. Listen to discover what's on the horizon.

The goddesses have managed to infiltrate the city of Westgate, a once lovely den of scum and villainy, now under the control of a fun-hating faction called the Chainers. After discovering their party of three has actually been a party of four this whole time, the ladies begin their search for something, or someone, named “Sandrine” which may hold the secret to their lost memories.
