Today's message of the day is about DISCIPLINE. The small things matter. Sometimes, we see the small things as “cute” or “not a big deal”, just like parents at times see their young children. This is a dangerous way of looking at things. It is the little things that can have the biggest impact sometimes. It is also how we steward the “little” things that influences what our futures look like. This is why everyone and their cat says that they are carrying some sort of “childhood trauma”. I would argue that whatever children experience is more important than what they experience as adults. Children are a BLANK canvas and will be trained in the direction set out for them.
If childhood is full of more pleasure than discipline the child will grow up entitled and unprepared for the world. If childhood is full of more discipline than pleasure, then a child grows up resentful.
“Discipline your child WHILE THERE IS HOPE” - this tells me that the things in seed form in our lives have an EXPIRY date on how much we can reap good things from them through discipline.
Have you ever seen how adults who weren’t disciplined when they were younger turn out as adults? I’m sure we all have. It’s a terrible sight to behold. The rudeness, entitlement, lack of empathy, snobby attitude, to name a few is nothing we would want for our own children… so why do we treat our own LIVES this way?
Tame your life. Tame your life. Tame your life.
