Melvin is the founder of Solve Innovation Group. He proudly leads teams of strategists, makers, and consultants to help develop startups for growth, create value-focused scenarios for technology, and bring outcome-based innovation to market. In this role, Melvin applies over two decades of experience in combining marketing and technology to design original and innovative solutions.
Prior to founding Solve, Melvin ran strategy and research for IPG’s global media think-tank, IPG Media Lab. His work helped prove that consumer behavior, location, and value are just as important as algorithms and data to the development of media and technology products. His efforts resulted in a projected increase of $60mm in revenue per year for the firm.
From creating a comic character with DC Comics to sell toothpaste that headlined at ComicCon to developing a TEDx in Harlem for non-tech founders, Melvin is always interested in building creative strategies which also keep the balance between utility and value exchange for users and clients. He is passionate about creating more diverse funding sources for startups and maker communities that help create positive business and social outcomes. Melvin has raised over $6mm over the last two years to further these efforts.
Over his career he has worked on hundreds of brands including Bank of America, Mastercard, Lockheed Martin, HSBC, US Army, Carol’s Daughter, and Ford Motor Company, and brought successful tech brands/products to market like HSBC Direct, EZPass, Kairos, Keep the Change, Microsoft SYNC, and SafeSend.
