Hello and welcome to The Trials. Our new system play test Actual Play podcasts from The Rpg Academy. These games are from one-shots of us playing a new system and giving it a trial run.  This is the Trial of Cold Steel Wardens. Superhero RPG’ing in the Iron Age of Comics.  CSW is the brain child of local game designer A.P. Klosky. It was successfully Kickstarted a couple years back and is being published by BlackFallPress (@BlackFallPress).

I met the author at CincyCon earlier this year and demo’d his game and really liked it. I invited him to come on and do a Trial of it for our show and here it is.  The first 25 minutes or so of this episode is a rules review and then we jump into the actual play. We will have our traditional recap episode after the AP episodes.

Also, A.P. will be at AcadeCon this year demoing this game and new in-development board game he’s working on.

Welcome to Part Two of our special guest lecture featuring Rich Howard (@Umbralwalker) from Tribality! In this episode, our own Professor Crunch (@TheCalebG) continues the conversation with Rich and focuses on some best advice for translating old PCs into new editions and rules. Rich tells us all about his favorite PC and what he did to build that character in the Fifth Edition Dungeons and Dragons rule set.

We also release the first details of the Epic Actual Play Crossover Event! Coming soon, you will be able to listen to a 20th level campaign played in 5E D&D, run by Professor Crunch featuring Michael, Rich, Shawn (also from Tribality) and DM Chris and Mitch from DMs Block as players! Before the game, Tribality will post a series of articles with character sheets, character back stories, and some story details that lead into the actual game. After the game, DMs Block will host both players and GM in a series of discussions about the game itself as well as the process behind building and running a 20th level one shot in 5E D&D. We are all just as excited for you to listen to this game as we are to play it! Stay tuned!

Hello and Welcome to Faculty Meetings: the general advice and discussion podcast from The RPG Academy.  I am Michael, and this is Faculty Meeting # 74: Shadow of the Demon Lord; Recap & Review  At Winter Fantasy this year I had the chance to do an early play test of a new and about to be Kickstarted RPG system called Shadow of the Demon Lord. We were able to set up a “the Trial” actual play of this new game system and here we bring all the players back together to discuss the game and give our thoughts. We all really liked the game a lot and we hope you’ll enjoy our conversation and  check out the Kickstarter when it goes live on March 12th, 2015
