In this gentle story, the kind rabbit Uncle Wiggily is looking for signs of spring when he accidentally breaks his glasses. Unable to see clearly, he hilariously mistakes various inanimate objects for his animal friends. His poor eyesight culminates in him "rescuing" what he believes are scared kittens hiding in a bush, carefully taking the branch they're on to Mother Goose for help. Mother Goose kindly reveals his mistake: the "kittens" are actually pussy willows, a type of early spring blossom. Realizing the trouble his broken glasses caused, Uncle Wiggily heads off to get them mended, leaving the pussy willows with Mother Goose.
