In this story, Uncle Wiggily, a kind rabbit, learns about the naturally slippery bark of the elm tree from Dr. Possum. Later, he encounters two little mice, Jillie and Squeaky-Eeky, who is crying because she wants to use her sled but there's no snow left from winter. Using his newfound knowledge, Uncle Wiggily cleverly peels the bark off a fallen slippery elm log, creating a perfect, natural slide for the mice. Squeaky-Eeky and Jillie are overjoyed as they take turns sliding down the log, demonstrating how resourcefulness and understanding nature can solve problems and bring happiness, even when conditions aren't ideal.
