While out for a walk, Uncle Wiggily and Nurse Jane find what appears to be a scary golden wolf, but discover it's merely a wooden statue fallen from a circus wagon. Deciding it would make a fine ornament, they cleverly use roller skates borrowed from goat children to transport the heavy statue back to Uncle Wiggily's bungalow. Although initially just a decoration placed in the hall, the wooden wolf proves unexpectedly useful when the mischievous Skeezicks intrudes; mistaking the statue for a real wolf in the dim light, the Skeezicks flees in terror, leaving Uncle Wiggily unharmed and demonstrating how even decorative items can sometimes provide surprising protection.
