The title of this episode truly reflects how I feel about having the opportunity to get to know Bryan Patterson Jr. more in depth. This man is a musician, creator, innovator, activist, and leader. All wrapped in a cool demeanor and silky voice. He is consistent in his goals and beliefs, and walks the walk of what he talks.

Speaking with him about the birth and evolution of the Bleuz Is Life brand was inspiring, and I can't wait to see where the journey continues to takes him. Having received recognition from musical masters such as Missy Elliot, Big Sean, Jhene Aiko and many more, I know he can only succeed. Though I have become disillusioned with participating in the political process, Bryan reminded me how far we've come and our responsibility to continue to vote to as a form of activism. It was refreshing to hear his thoughts on the role of black men and women, and how we can move forward with integrity and accountability.

We are two people who met once in a chance encounter, coming from completely different places. We never saw each other in person again, but we have remained connected for seven years now. I believe we are meant to change the world in separate ways working towards to same goal, and I feel truly blessed to know Bryan Patterson Jr. We are shaping and changing the Black narrative and reality one action at a time, by spreading love, positivity, creativity, and clarity. We wind down and discuss Black writers, directors, producers and more by dissecting some semi-recent Black films.

And as always, arrest the cops that killed Breonna Taylor while she was sleeping in her bed in her home on March 13, 2020. Black Lives Matter.

Please join me and welcoming back my father to the show! Every time we speak, our purpose is to seek the truth in the world. So this episode is revved up with no brakes, and a little out of order. We start the uncomfortable conversation by discussing why African descendants and Europeans are so different. Could it be because of alien intervention? Then we get real and talk about the benefits of being in a professional work union, the purpose of striking, and how politics is intertwined in all of this. We finish this episode with a some local news that really pissed me off. We recorded this in mid-June 2020, when the topic of defunding the police was making headlines. So we discuss the role the media plays in gas-lighting the Black community, and the planned destruction of Randallstown - a predominately Black, middle-class, suburban community in Baltimore County, Maryland.

During the news portion of this episode, we discuss the purpose of our Mayors and City Councils and the importance of learning about your local politicians. Then, we compare our feelings about growing up in church and why we don't feel comfortable attending now. Since the second anniversary of our dad's passing is approaching on July 2nd, we take some time to discuss how he may have felt about COVID and the BLM protests if he were alive today in 'Real Talk'.

We've been under quarantine and dealing with COVID madness for over 90 days now, and a lot has changed in three short months. This week my husband and I discuss potential problems and solutions to operating a public summer camp for youth, handling family with opposing viewpoints on social media, and the effects of being laid-off on a relationship.
