David Sutherland is a professor of earth sciences at the University of Oregon with a focus on Coastal physical oceanography and Ice-ocean interactions. Sutherland's work has taken him across the world on expeditions to study ice melting and ocean currents.

Bowerman's lab, named the Bowerman lab, uses molecular genetics and live cell imaging to study cytoskeletal regulation and function in the early Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans) embryo. Studies of C. elegans have revealed breakthroughs in studying aging, cancer, and other phenomena related to cell division. By removing genes, C. elegans have been made to live more than 3x their normal life span. Bruce says he is fond of research-oriented biology, rather than applied, but looking at his work in the context of the far-enough-future the line between the two may be hard to distinguish.

Stephen Frost is a professor of anthropology here at the University of Oregon. He works as a paleontologist and morphometrician. Stephen is also interested in evolutionary theory as well as human and primate evolution. Stephen's research includes the late Miocene to Pleistocene East African cercopithecids (the Old World monkeys) oriented toward describing material from the Afar Region of Ethiopia, as well as the relationship between African cercopithecid evolution and global climatic change. He is also generally interested in many things science.

Damian is an artist in the pacific northwest whose work focuses primarily on graphite creature illustrations. Damian began his art career in 2001 with commercial multimedia production,and has been teaching multimedia and graphic design courses in the Media Arts department at Lane Community College since 2001. David Wineland is an American Physicist and currently a professor at the University of Oregon. His interests include advances in optics, specifically laser cooling trapped ions, using ions for quantum computing operations, and motorcycle racing. He was awarded the 2012 Nobel Prize in Physics, jointly with Serge Haroche, for "ground-breaking experimental methods that enable measuring and manipulation of individual quantum systems".

Richard Taylor is the Head of the Physics Department and Head of Fractal Research at the University of Oregon. Taylor has published more than 300 papers. He is also a trained painter, photographer, and a marathon runner. Taylor takes an interdisciplinary approach to his research studying fractals, having training and a fascination in both the arts and the sciences.

Taylor's work has been featured in television documentaries such as The Art of Science (ABC, 1998), Hunting the Hidden Dimension (PBS, 2008) and The Code (BBC, 2011).

Scott Fisher is an astronomer at the University of Oregon. He had previously worked at Hawaii's Gemini Observatory and served as a program officer of the National Science Foundation.

Roy Chan teaches Russian and Chinese comparative literature focusing on the 20th century at the University of Oregon. He received a PhD from Berkeley and has conducted research at Harvard.
