We came so close to not having an episode to post this week because of unexpected recording issues, but Krista saved the day, so here you go, guys! We see the gang orchestrate a near perfect plan that ended with Katherine in the tomb, despite her many contingencies. Unfortunately, one of those contingencies was Sarah, whose compulsion kicked in when Matt's didn't work (thanks to Caroline) and ended in Sarah's death, and the activation of Tyler's werewolf curse.
 
 
Then Elena gets kidnapped. By Rose and the not long for this series Trevor, who have been running from The Originals for 500 years. They bring one of those Originals, Elijah, to the Petrova Doppelganger, but he's staked through the chest with a coat rack by the Salvatores and Elena is saved, again.
