Poet & spoken word artist Rodrigo Sanchez-Chavarria joins Terry for the debut episode of With the Call! Rodrigo is a writer of Peruvian heritage and is heavily involved with Palabristas, a Minnesota-based Latinx poets collective. He is a graduate of the department of Chicano and Latino studies at the University of Minnesota, and of the MFA in creative writing program at Hamline University. Rodrigo is a co-host of the 551 Pod so, naturally, he and Terry talk a lot of soccer, about writing and reading during COVID, and Rodrigo caps the episode with a reading of his poem 'Open Letter to El Fuerte,' and he crushes it (1:09.00).

Rodrigo is also featured in the anthology A Good Time for the Truth: Race in Minnesota, which is a Minnesota Center for the Book’s statewide One Book One Minnesota book club pick.
