Under The Abbey Stand

The first in-person podcast recording since March 2020 from the glamorous surroundings of Wigan Premier Inn. It’s not what Tom, Julian and Matt would have predicted at the time, and we also wouldn’t have predicted it to be off the back of a 2-1 win against the league leaders live on the telly. But Mark Bonner’s Tricky U’s never fail to surprise us any more.

We also have a great chat with CFU about the upcoming AGM and the future of the organisation. Get in touch with the pod:

In the latest episode of our Meets series, it was an absolute pleasure to invite owner, legend, and most importantly lifelong fan Paul Barry to UTAS HQ (a Zoom call). We spoke about the ground redevelopment, his history supporting United, and the future of the club - and a lot more.

Thanks very much to Paul for joining. Get your questions ready for our next conversation with him. You can get in touch with the pod on socials, email, or through our website:

This football team will be the death of us all, won't it? A bumper pod this week as the UTAS boys get together to discuss events at Portman Road and another memorable afternoon to add onto Mark Bonner's CV, as well as looking ahead to inviting Wycombe and Morecambe to the Abbey this week - including a special chat with Sam Gomarsall from the Cambridge United Community Trust about their special matchday on the 9th.

The U's register another loss at the hands of Milton Keynes FC, and absolutely nobody is allowed to talk about the R word. Matt Gooding is back with UTAS to look back over that 1-0 loss and have a look ahead at the definition of all banana skins on Saturday, as we face the real Dons who are currently winless in 2022. We all know what happens next...

A tough day at the office for the U's on Saturday as they fell to a 6-0 defeat at the hands of Sheffield Wednesday. Julian Roberts is joined by Matt Caspell and Tom Walker to go through the biggest talking points from the day, preview MK Dons next week with the MK1 podcast, and discuss one of the most important pieces of news to come out of United in a long, long time: the Abbey is ours again.
