UNDER THE BLANKET

Be Here Now under Maharajji’s blanket as Bill returns to the podcast. Baba Here Love and Danny discuss our new band Broke by Tuesday, Criminal Justice, Sports, Basketball, Oneness, The Cosmic Joke, The Birds, Gambling, The best football team ever The Eagles, and Remember Be Here Now.

“Humor puts things in perspective. There are many levels of humor. There is a humor of survival, a humor of sex and gratification, a humor connected with power. Beyond all these there is a humor that is filled with compassion.

It is reflected in the tiny upturn in the mouth of the Buddha, for he sees the humor in the universal predicament. All beings are lost in illusion, yet he knows that they will awaken from that illusion for they are, at heart, already enlightened. He knows that what seems so hard to them is from another perspective their own path to liberation.

Often the perspectives about yourself and the universe that you arrive at through meditation make you want to giggle or laugh. This giggle is without malice. It’s a cosmic giggle, one that I identify with my guru, Maharaj-ji. For his giggle was not of this world. It was not a social or personality giggle, but rather a cosmic chuckle, the delight in the fun of it all. His giggle was from the plane that gives us the term “lila,” the divine dance of life.”

Be Here Now under Maharajji’s blanket as Shakti talks to Shiva. Baba Here Love is Shiva’s MAHA-avatar and Tara Cox is Shakti’s MAHA-avatar. It’s all God. The One plays as The Two. I AM YOU. In the illusion of time and space they talk on the podcast through Tara and Baba. They discuss art, the illusion of separation, orgasms, tantric-sex yoga, hitler and much more. All of it is related to our spiritual awakening.

“My life is a creative act--like a painting, or a concerto.” - Ram Dass

Tara is an artist, art teacher, poet, and dreamer living in Anchorage, Alaska. She is an Alaskan Surrealist, and considers her art to be portals to worlds strange, silly, profound, joyus, and beautiful. Tara wishes to bring serenity and mirth with her paintings, and encourages her students to embrace the boundless creativity found within.

Be Here Now under Maharajji’s blanket as Baba Here Love and Marcus Rummery discuss The One, Terence McKenna, underground comics, Neem Karoli Baba, homosexuality, the gay agenda and more. It is all applied to our spiritual awakening.

“Allen Ginsberg is a very close friend of mine, and for a long time, because Allen was being very much publicly gay in his writings and his writing at work, I questioned whether that was my role too. I saw along the way, because of my drug history, that I was identified by many people as being a “druggie.”

I began to see that every one of these roles and labels was both a way of having a feeling of comfort in a group identity, while also being a defining concept in my own mind. I see people who have labels in their mind of who I am. I found it a little too complicated to have any labels at all.”

- Ram Dass

Marcus has been creative all of his life. Born to a journalist and scientist, and raised in a community adjacent to a nuclear research facility in rural Manitoba called Pinawa. Marcus’ upbringing was one of dynamic creativity and radioactive inspiration.

Marcus began performing stand-up comedy in 1996 in Ottawa. Then, less than a year later, he came third in Canada’s Funniest New Comic contest. He has performed all across Canada and L.A., headlining in Montreal, Vancouver, Ottawa, toured the country twice, and been featured on XM Radio as well CBC Radio’s Definitely Not the Opera and Madly Off in All Directions.

In 2002 Marcus became certified to teach hot yoga, a then new practice involving vigorous exercise in an extreme environment where the heat is cranked to 40.6 Celsius and the humidity to 40%. For almost eleven years, ten times a week you could here his inspirational ranting all around Lotus Land until 2014 when he premiered Hot Prana. This new series that he calls the Crossfit of Yoga, was featured in his first teacher training in 2016. A disrupter in the space he later became the first yoga teacher to also sing and play guitar while instructing, a class he calls Cool Qi.

Marcus completed his BA in psychology in 2005 and then two years later the Langara College digital documentary program, and in 2008 finished Big Medicine – The Techno-Shamanism of Frank Ogden. In 2017 he released his magnus opus film Bucket Chemistry, featuring a four-act psychedelic death and rebirth multimedia rock-show. In February 1995, after a life changing psilocybin experience, Marcus began the research that would lead to his interest in Frank’s work when he started investigating psychoactive drugs - culminating in the publication of Shamanic Graffiti in 2016, with the second edition coming out this year. The first edition is featured at the Archives of Psychoactive Substances at Purdue University. In 2021 he began his master’s degree in counseling at Athabasca University.

Fronting the bands Evoke, All Possible Humans and In Defense of Tim Leary Marcus has operated as a vocalist since the beginning. Right now, he is working on his second book Shamanic Enneagram, recording and performing as well as teaching yoga, and continuing his studies in psychology.

“And you just have to be very honest about your predicament. You can’t be phony. Phony holy isn’t going to get us there, in other words, you don’t go dramatically changing everything once you get a new value in your head, because you’re doing it with a certain kind of attachment of mind that’s going to cause you to have a reaction to it anyway. So don’t get voluntary-simple too soon. Let it be something that naturally falls away, rather than you ripping it away.”

“The final awakening is the embracing of the darkness into the light. That means embracing our humanity as well as our divinity. What we go from is being born into our humanity, sleep walking for a long time, until we awaken and start to taste our divinity. And then want to finally get free.
We see as long as we grab at our divinity and push away our humanity we aren’t free. If you want to be free, you can’t push away anything. You have to embrace it all. It’s all God.”

A Conversation Between Ram Dass & Terence McKenna

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wCUXVzOVprE

Terence McKenna

“It’s not a personal question to you, it’s a personal question from me. How do you like having the projection of special identity constantly laid on you?”

Ram Dass

“It’s a sādhanā. It’s my practice.”

Terence McKenna

“That’s a good answer. But you didn’t say how you liked it.”

Ram Dass

“I like it to the capacity I have to transpose it. If I can’t—I mean, sometimes, these are going very fast. And to just keep it transposed, then I love it. I love it. It’s like a fire. If the minute I start to lose it, it’s a fucking drag. It really is. Because, you know, I was in a situation in Miami where all these women with blue eyes and coiffured hair were grabbing at the buttons of my jacket. And I thought, “Oh, I don’t want this. Whatever this life is, I don’t want to be part of this. They’ll eat your flesh, finally.”

“I was no longer needing to be special, because I was no longer so caught in my puny separateness that had to keep proving I was something. I was part of the universe, like a tree is, or like grass is, or like water is. Like storms, like roses. I was just part of it all.”
