- 043 - Mighty Gunvolt Burst, Smushi Come Home, & Cuphead
Ready, set, WALLOP! Join us on a tour through the Inkwell Isles as we swap our loadouts, revive each other's ghosts, and fail (a lot). The Netflix-adapted run-and-gun debut from Studio MDHR is Season 4's co-op game, and golly, playing it together is quite a cartoony ride.

There are but a handful of titles in the pantheon of OG indies. More than a decade old, these games started a subcultural wave that's still going strong to this day. Limbo is one such game, and we have deep histories with it. It's time to explore this eerie sensation once again for our review—in the dark.

For a podcast all about reviewing video games within a small window of time, what's more fitting than featuring a Metroidvania in which every single character—yours included—has a ticking clock until becoming too far gone? There's much to do, but our priorities differ. Save us some meteor dust if we seem to run out of time.

A dog named Pizza/Calzone/Pupusa inherits a paintbrush and takes up the coveted mantle of Wielder for Picnic Province! With lost kids to find, litter to collect, and a darkness to dispel, all eyes are on them. As we splash paint onto this colorless world, we reflect on belonging, creativity, and expectations in our own lives. It’s time to have some real talk.

It's one of our shortest games yet! After exploring the serene and mysterious ocean, we talk about it for nearly as long as the time we spent playing in it. Prepare to forget everything you know about sharks and inverted pyramids.

All the robots in the land are possessed by a virus! It's going to take a special android and his lemon-shooting arm cannon to save the day. Where have we seen this kind of hero before?
