This episode focuses on the roles of the defense attorney, prosecutor, and the judge. Prosecutorial Misconduct is briefly mentioned and how exculpatory evidence can lead to a wrongful conviction.

In this episode I continue with felonies, the difference between robbery, theft, larceny, and burglary, notorious financial crimes and white collar crimes are talked about and crimes against people such as rape, sexual assault, and kidnapping.

In this episode I cover the 6 different types of crimes. I provide examples of each type of crime, treason, espionage, misdemeanors, infractions, inchoate offenses, and felonies. Fasten your seatbelts because you are in for a ride!

On this first episode of Understanding Basic Criminal Law, we go over the importance of Mens Rea and Actus Reus. The Actus Reus and the Mens Rea will be needed in the foundation of Criminal law being discussed in future episodes.
