Helicobacter Pylori is a bacteria that can live in your stomach lining and can increase the risk of stomach ulcers and gastric cancer. 50% of the world's population have this bacteria, and will present with symptoms such as reflux, bloating, burping and bad breath. But many people that have Helicobacter Pylori, don't experience any symptoms. In episode 3 of The GUT Guru, I speak to Dr. Alfred Tay from The Marshall Centre for Infectious Diseases Research and Training. Dr. Tay will share his expert knowledge on H. Pylori and how you can become contaminated, and easy prevention tips. The standard treatment of H. Pylori is with antibiotics. We also discuss herbs that have been researched to reduce H. Pylori. Don't miss my bonus section at the end of the episode, where I share which probiotics can be used in conjunction with antibiotic treatment, to reduce side effects.
