Hebrews 12: 2 gives an amazing revelation about joy. The passage reveals that Jesus remained on the Cross for one reason: "For the joy that was set before Him;" no other reason given. On the Cross Jesus was 100% God and 100% man but His joy as God dominated His humanity as man. His joy stood in the same moments and in the same context as His pain, His rejection, His isolation, His disrespect, and His shame. That is what joy must also be to us; the strength to stand and withstand because we are clear and confident in Who Jesus is to us.
