Understanding the Bible

Not your typical feel good story today. This is the harsh reality of war. Today we talk about Jael, a women 3000 years ago in the middle east who dared to raise her hand against a man, a General who came as a friend, to the house of her husband.

She was a Kenite woman, from a nomadic tribe of people who were probably friends with the Israelites. They were the people of Moses' wife.

This is her story from the book of Judges.

What was the role of the priests in the Bible? Do we need a priest now? Why do we have Pastors....Deacons....Elders?

This episode delves into the subject of what is Church? and what did Christ mean when He said "Upon this Rock I will build my CHURCH"?

We've come a long way from creation, altars and sacrifices, the tabernacle in the wilderness, and the Spirit of God descending into the Holy of Holies like a cloud to meet with God's Priests. Continuing the search for Heroes of the Bible we find the first (to my knowledge) historical reference to a left handed person! This is a very interesting story for both medical and political reasons. You have to listen to this short story today and find out what God thinks of left handed people! (I joke here because the story is not about that so much as it is about deliverance from oppression.)

What can we learn from this Hero? Leave your comments after listening, I would love to hear your ideas.

This episode continues in the quest to answer the questions, "should we go to church" and if so, "why"?

Today I discuss Jesus Christ and what He did. We often hear the answer to life's problems is, "What Would Jesus Do?" In this case, I answer the question, "What DID Jesus do?" It is also important to pay attention to what He commanded His disciples to do as well.

Listen to this today, and let me know your thoughts in the comments. I also have a teaser about the podcast at the end and would like to know if you have any suggestions.
