Continuing the search for Heroes of the Bible we find the first (to my knowledge) historical reference to a left handed person! This is a very interesting story for both medical and political reasons. You have to listen to this short story today and find out what God thinks of left handed people! (I joke here because the story is not about that so much as it is about deliverance from oppression.)

The first building that God ever instructed humans to build was a tent called the Tabernacle. This was literally the dwelling place of God when He led the people out of Egypt, all the way until the time of King Solomon when a permanent Temple was made. The tabernacle had specific gold and silver fasteners and plates that were made to be taken apart so that they could move the building as God led them into the Promised Land.

Certain priests were named, the tribe of Levi was specifically called out to serve, and these people were consecrated to the service of God and given the privilege of meeting with Him in the tabernacle.

What is the purpose of church? Well, one of them is to worship and communicate with God. How do we communicate with God? Well, it is different today than it was in the Old Testament.

Everyone sins, and sin separates us from the perfectly Holy God. The only way to fix that is to pay the penalty for sin and get forgiveness. Back then, the only way to get forgiveness was to make a sacrifice to God.

This episode explains a little bit about that system of sacrifices that basically made you eligible to communicate with God.
