Jefferson Property Valuations Administrator Colleen Younger joins the Access Louisville podcast this week. We talk about an upcoming reassessment of property that could affect thousands of homeowners and business in the county. Younger's office is required by the state's constitution to reassess real property in order figure out a value, which your tax bill is going to be based on.
She tells us how that value is figured, what the office is doing to address rising values in inner city neighborhoods (which have the potential to displace low income residents who might not be able to afford a higher tax bill) and the process of appealing a tax bill.  There's more information on the reassessment here.
Later in the show, we switch gears and talk about a new challenge from Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear to increase vaccinations in the state. The governor says he will lift certain Covid-19 restrictions on businesses once a vaccination threshold is reached.
