Listen Later

SnipBit is the weekly podcast designed to provide motivational and inspirational soundbites and snippets from aspirational people in the fields of business, sport, entertainment and politics.

This week we welcome Neville Wright, author, entrepreneur, property investor and the founder of Kiddicare, a children’s and nursery retailer, which he sold to Morrissons in 2011 for £70m.

Neville left school at 15 with dyslexia, not knowing how to read properly and write his own name. Neville shares his inspiring story about how he went from being “unemployable’ to being self-employed and co-founding Kiddicare, his journey spanning 4 decades and how he overcame personal limitations in order to succeed and the importance of developing a growth mindset!

On this episode you will learn:

  • How his early childhood influences the person he became
  • How he turned his dyslexia and ADHD into an advantage
  • Identifying what you are good at and excel at that
  • What are the signs that you have to stop trying too hard
  • Stop judging other people's ability
  • What advice would he give his younger self

The show's mission is to drive young people to seek greater heights of achievement through the examples of those that have gone before them. The core aim is to show that achievement is not limited to luck or circumstance and listeners can learn from the success stories and mistakes of the best.

The famous voices you will hear interviewed by host Hayley Meakes on SnipBit will demonstrate to young people that they can be successful in their chosen field, whatever their background or start in life. This show sets out to prove that with hard work, a positive mindset, resilience and action great success can be achieved.
