This week we welcome Steve Backley. In this episode, Steve talks about the background and factors of his achievements. He shares that we all have God-given physicality and are programmed to a certain degree. He says that it happens to us in early life that shapes us inevitably. He came from a sporting family with very supportive parents, quite challenging, but supportive, and was encouraged to give stuff a try. He also shares his observation as an athlete that it isn't always the most physically talented who would win; there were other factors. The big driving force for him was actually to prove people wrong.

Joe and his late brother Jeff were born into the J W Foster & family business, but on their return after 2 years away from home on National Service, they asked questions. The year was 1955 and the brothers saw a business still rooted in the 1930’s Their father and uncle were now operating the business and very much like other companies, spent more time feuding than collaborating. The brothers founded Mercury Sports Footwear which, after 18 months, they renamed to become the now-famous REEBOK brand. As the surviving Founder of Reebok, Joe still welcomes the opportunity to travel and recounts those early stories from start-up to taking the company to a $4 billion business, overtaking Adidas & Nike to become the World's No.1 sports brand. In this episode, Joe talks about his journey together with his brother in building one of the world’s most recongnised brands and how they came up with the brand name. This week we welcome Ini Umotong, a Nigerian professional footballer. Ini’s the youngest of six born to Dr Ben Anefiok and Grace Umotong of Ikono in Old Cross River State. She began playing football at the age of five and it was in Primary school where she was spotted by Birmingham City in 2003. She earned her first call up to the Super Falcons in February, 2015 when coach Edwin Okon invited 36 players to camp to prepare for the 11th All-Africa Games qualifiers, 2016 Olympic Games qualifiers and the 7th FIFA Women’s World Cup finals. In this episode we will discuss how Ini had to fight cultural pressure to be a football player. She also shares how her background and upbringing influenced her work ethic and choice of career.
