Have you ever wondered how Christ’s command to forgive avoids being an entitlement for anyone who behaves badly and doesn’t want to admit it? It seems to me the gospels contain guidance that is often overlooked by people who treat forgiveness as a nice goal but a realistic impossibility.

Helping a close friend at his wife’s bedside just a few days after my wife passed away my eyes were opened to a lesson about how to handle the dreaded “fine” response. I offer it as a hypothesis for others to test since I no longer can.
