In today's Gospel reading, Jesus sees and knows Nathaniel, before he has even seen Jesus. This vision of Jesus, in a similar manner, can also be applied to today's Old Testament lesson. It's not just Samuel and Nathaniel though; it's all of us. God loves and knows us before we are even aware of him. In response to this, we should be .taking up our crosses to see just as Jesus sees.
