Unfolding - Connecting the Dots of Midlife with Human Design episodes

  • You Don’t Have to Hide Your Magic

You get the chills, or a nudge you can’t explain, and you talk yourself out of it before it has a chance to land.

You were taught to be rational, so you learned to rationalize it.

In this episode, I share my first experience with the spiritual world outside of church, and it started with my cats.

Then came the dreams, the perfume, and the footsteps in the attic, and I started to embrace a side of myself that I had been afraid of for years.

I also share what happened when I first heard “gather the women” and tried to make sense of what it meant.

And how in the last year or so, I’ve leaned so far into the practical that I started to feel I wasn’t woo enough, until a nudge told me to pay attention.

I close with an invitation to notice why your intuition may be feeling more online in the forty days from the end of September to the early part of November.

  • Fine Is a Four-Letter Word - A Conversation with Katie Farinas

You checked all the boxes. Got the degrees, the marriage, the house, the career. Everything looked exactly as it should. So why did something still feel missing?

In this episode, Erica talks with Katie Farinas, former labor and delivery nurse turned yoga teacher and life coach, about what happens when your body finally stops letting you ignore what you've been pushing down.

They dig into the quiet grief of midlife that doesn't have a name, what dharma actually means and why "purpose" gets so tangled, and how to reconnect with something greater than yourself when the religion you grew up with never quite fit.

Katie also shares her own episode on exactly that: The G Word: How to Reconnect with God in Midlife.

  • What We Learned in the Summer of Self-Love

You think self-love is something you arrive at, one aha moment, one conversation, and you're done. It's not. And if your inner critic has gotten louder in midlife instead of quieter, you're not imagining it, and you're not alone.

Erica looks back at the whole Summer of Self-Love series, what she learned, what she didn't talk about enough along the way, and what twelve women told her it meant to be part of it.

  • What If Midlife Isn't a Crisis? It's a Calling - A Conversation with Julie Ciardi

You've been told that turning 50 means winding down, easing off, preparing for retirement. What if it's actually when you're just getting started?

In this episode, Erica talks with her mentor Julie Ciardi, creator of the IGNITE Her® Frequencies, about the line that stopped Erica mid-drive: "What if midlife isn't a crisis, it's a calling?" They dig into Julie's own journey leaving a corporate career, why she rewrote traditional Human Design into her own language, and how understanding her family's design changed how she parents, loves, and leads.

  • When the Camera Shows What's On The Inside - Conversation with Tommy Collier

You know when you get family photos taken and the photographer really captures the essence of everyone, including you? That’s close to what happened when I started working with Tommy Collier on my camera setup this summer, except it happened live, on video, in a corner of my office.

Tommy and I talk about what it’s like when the person you feel like on the inside finally shows up in how you look on camera.

This is the final Summer of Self-Love conversation.

  • When Your Own Label Doesn't Fit Anymore

We don't like it when other people put us in a box. Yet sometimes we build one for ourselves anyway, a title, a role, or a version of who we think we're supposed to be. Then we wonder why things feel too small.

In this episode, Erica shares why the title she gave herself over a year ago stopped fitting, and what she's calling herself instead. She unpacks why personality tests like Myers-Briggs left her feeling boxed in, why Human Design works differently – more like connecting the dots.

  • Self-Love Through Human Design

"There is nothing wrong with me." That's the phrase I heard over and over this summer, when I asked people to share the one piece of their Human Design that changed how they see themselves. This episode is part of the Summer of Self-Love series, and they share what part of their design, their type, their authority, a center, a profile, helped them finally stop trying to fix what was never broken.
