Hope you all are having a safe and fulfilling day.  On today's episode we are congratulating ourselves for making it to this day despite all of the craziness of 2020, as well talking about the pardoning of turkeys and jive  turkeys,  reflecting on the original covid hero Joe Exotic, hyping up the best Lois Lane of all-time (Amy Adams), the Trump Time continuum and because of Thanksgiving, there is a little football talk.

Hey Party Crashers -

In today's episode we are taking a break from the snark (well...as much as Jerry can avoid it.  They don't call him 'Tony Snark' for nothing!*) to celebrate Dolly Parton's contribution to making 2020 a not-as-crappy-as-it-could-be, as well as seeking to channel her essence in order to figure out how we collectively move forward as our better selves.  We are talking self-care, how i hate walking as exercise and how we might be able to recognize the humanity of others again (and yes, i really do quote John Mayer).

Here's hoping each of you are well and if you are traveling to see family, we encourage you to be as safe as possible.

Hey Party Crashers!

Hope all is well...and that you are able to safely stay home as we try to crush the coronavirus.  In this, the 30th episode of the show (which, i think may only be the 29th as i cannot find the 27th episode anywhere in my archive.  Perhaps in 40 years it will be like Bob Dylan's lost tapes) we are talking the amazingness that is Queen's Gambit,  staying safe from COVID-19 and getting a little too serious about what it is going to take to hold on to our democracy.

So yeah, this episode goes a little heavy on the serious political and public health talk (with a dash of musical joy at the end) but where we are at with fending off a killer virus and authoritarianism we might need a little dose of the serious right now.

In any case, thank for sharing your time with us.  We hope you stay safe and that you're being as kind to yourself as you are to others.

In the latest episode of the 'Uninvited' Jerry explores the role of faith in the United States' current political context while also getting into imaginary air quotes, judging people for their Postmates orders and has a trip down memory lane thru his less-then-glorious glory days from college and as a holier-than-thou Christian.

But for real, this is an important conversation as we get into how Divine Proxy might explain the attraction of evangelical christians to Donald Trump and their subsequent rejection of democracy as an operating system for America.

Hope you tune in and get something out of it.  Moving into 2021, we are gonna need to stretch from our comfort zone if we are to understand how we keep the scales tipped toward democracy.

Hey Party Crashers!!!

WE DID IT!!!  We made it thru the longest episode ever of "Call The Damn Race, Already!" thanks to the great state of Pennsylvania.  In today's episode  we are talking about what the future of America with Biden and Harris will look like, dishing on the state of Nevada and imploring us to find a way to weigh-in on the two Georgia runoff elections in January.

More importantly, we are just celebrating today.

What's up, Party Crashers!

Hope you all are doing well and that you've either voted or have a plan to vote on November 3rd.  We are in the home stretch now and we need all of you to get America over the goal line.

In this episode of 'Uninvited', Jerry focuses in on the concerted efforts to suppress the vote in the 2020 election and explores the state of Texas as a case study to highlight how the strategies to steal this election are not new or original in anyway but are rather part of a historic voter suppression playbook that America has used since its inception.

In the midst of this exploration, Jerry finds time in on Brett Favre*, Lil' Wayne*, the City of Boston, Gov. Greg Abbott and Florida Man Allen West while also finding time to promote a book (not his but Matthew McConaughey's new memoir 'Greenlight') and shout out his two favorite Texans Emily and Shawn.  

So essentially this is typical 'Uninvited' hot-mess fare but with the very best of intention.

Welp, that laundry ain't gonna fold itself so you've come to the right place as we wax poetic about the biggest news stories of the week including the Judiciary Committee hearings for our next Supreme Court Justice (hold please.  Jerry is on a vomit break)...

(37 seconds later)...Amy Coney Barrett, as well as picking up where Bill Burr left off during his SNL monologue re:  the most influential demographic of the electorate (also this show's primary audience) while also to going in on Lindsey Graham, Brett Kavanaugh and pretty much the mediocre men who inhabit the President's orbit.

We are also talking nixed bucket list travel plans to Europe and the host's love for Pearl Jam.  So basically, the type of folly we have come to expect from the 'Uninvited'.

Real talk tho:  we hope you're well and that you're taking good care of yourselves.

Hey...Sup Party Crashers!!!  What a crazy week, huh?!  Just when you thought that the most bizarre thing we've ever witnessed in presidential campaign history on Tuesday night, the President pretty much says "Hold My Beer..." with his decisions over the course of those next few days.

In this episode Jerry is gonna wax poetic on all things 2020 politics so buckle up...he's on one today!

All that being said, we here at the Uninvited want to make sure that you are taking care of yourselves and each other.  We are sending real thoughts, real prayers and all the good juju we have available to you.  As the great Wilco says in 'Jesus, Etc':  "Our love is all we have."   As much we have to give, let's give it away.

We promise this is a brand new episode.  However it has all of the quirks of the earliest recordings, including what would have been a wonderful trains of thought on both the weak ass charges against the Louisville Police Department for the death of Breonna Taylor, Fake Christianity and Whitney Cummings' take on Trump's taxes. We get a little sidetracked and then get a little pissed, which is ok because this podcast may be the only space in which Jerry can have an opinion or show emotion and not be physically harmed for doing so.
