We are starting a new sermon series this week called "Identity of a Disciple" and in  this first week we are talking about Purpose. Why did Jesus have disciples? We look at John 14 and 15 today to talk about the purpose of Discipleship in the kingdom of God, the cost of grace, and our closeness with Christ.

Sin and death are defeated in the end. We will talk about the good guys next week but this week we dive a little into learning about the loosing side of the Great War of Armageddon.

Revelation is filled with violent acts on the road to restoration. In this sermon we examine those acts and interpret their meaning.

Revelation is a book of hope. The apocalyptic writing is a sort of map outlining the journey of fully realizing that hope. In this sermon we will spend time looking for symbols on that map and creating a bit of a key for our further study of the book. 

There are no punks in the Kingdom of God… GET UP!

Christians have a new reality to look forward to: a new Earth in which Jesus reigns as King and Ruler. In this sermon we wrap up the calibration of hearts for this political season by reminding ourselves that there is a Kingdom beyond this one and it is soon to come.

Ephesians 4:2-6

"Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.”

To live this out means that my loyalty to those who share my political and economic views come second to my loyalty to those with whom I share a savior.

As believers, we need to calibrate our hearts and minds to the will of the Father when it comes to making all decisions. US politics and culture are not exceptions. In this sermon series we turn our hearts and focus to surrendering to the Father as we prepare ourselves for the climax of this election season.

As we look ahead to is head of us in 2020, let’s recalibrate our hearts to honoring God with every spect of our lives. To honor is to make weighty/valuable. The favor of the Lord will flow as we seek to make Him THE priority in our lives.
