He underscores the challenges posed by political polarization and personal conflicts, advocating for maintaining integrity and empathy in navigating these situations.

When the beautiful diversity of our world is under attack, how should we respond? Sometimes we will need to fight for people’s dignity, sometimes we will need to build a beloved community, sometimes we will need to tend wounds, even our own, and sometimes all at once!

Our guest speaker is the Rev. Paul Johnson, who was our Zoom minister during the Covid period.  His topic is Congregational Polity and the balance between congregational independence and inter-church relationships.  He holds Doctorates in both Ministry and Divinity from Meadville/Lombard Divinity School.  He has served UU congregations in five states and is currently at

The speaker for Sunday’s service is Tom Neilson.  He’s also our mini-concert performer.   Combining art with activism, Tom uses the power of folk music to advocate for human rights over the world, receiving two songs of the year awards as well as awards for his human rights work.

This is the second part of our exploration of the fourth Unitarian Universalist Principle: A Free and Responsible Search for Truth and Meaning. We will look at nature and natural laws and a scientific basis for discerning truth.
