1 John 4:16 "God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him."

John 13:34-35 "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

1. We Are Part of a Family

"Let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers." (Galatians 6:10)

"Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble." (1 Peter 3:8)

2. We Are Part of a Body

"The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ." (1 Corinthians 12:12)

From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work." (Ephesians 4:16)

3. We Are Part of a Flock

"I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep." (John 10:11)

"Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood." (Acts 20:28)

4. We Are Part of the Church

Jesus said: "I will build my church" (Matthew 16:18). The Bible word "church" means, literally, "the called-out ones," those who have been called by God and gathered together out of the world.

Matthew 6:21 (NASB) 21 for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

1 Samuel 15:22 (NLT) 22 But Samuel replied, “What is more pleasing to the LORD: your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams.
