What world are you of? Jesus challenges us to explore the depths of this question when He very strongly declares to the Jewish religious leaders, “You are of this world; I am not of this world. I told you that you would die in your sins, for unless you believe that I am He you will die in your sins.”

What world are you of? The answer to that question is far more complex than most of us have ever considered, and according to Jesus, it is a question of paramount importance. Whether you are a follower of Jesus or not, Pastor Leonce's hope is that you would see why your answer to this question is important, and how it ultimately affects every aspect of your life.

John 8:12 - 30

This week Pastor Leonce concludes our Single, Sexual, & Spiritual series with "The Talk." Sex has long been considered a shameful subject for many people growing up; many parents avoid the conversation entirely when raising children. This has left entire generations of people to interpret sex by cultural rather than biblical standards. The good news is Scripture portrays sex as a wonderful gift from God that should be enjoyed...but in its proper context. Listen as Pastor Leonce paints a picture of sexuality as it was meant to be, as we find out that Sex in context is a good gift from God. Whereas sex out of context may lead to pleasure, but it also leads to incredible pain.

This week, we conclude the three-part sermon, The Dating Game. Pastor Leonce lays out the final five behaviors for Biblical courtship. Dating says, "I’m checking you out to see if I’d like to know you better." Courtship says, "I’m going to get to know you in the context of community to see if we could possibly share our lives together".

Last week we began a 3-part sermon called "The Dating Game". Pastor Leonce began by explaining the damage that modern dating has caused to all those involved. This week we look at several principles (2-5) for dating someone biblically:

These are important, because one of our guiding principles is that we are trying to prepare to be a godly spouse, even as we try to find a godly spouse. All singles who profess Christ and aspire to marriage — even as a possibility — have this responsibility.

“That’s it...no more dating.” Most of the married folks can remember when they reached that point...probably multiple times.And if you aren't married yet, its not unlikely that you are either at that point right now, trying to recover from it, or headed that way. So today we are going to deal with dating and discover some guideline for doing it well.

In recent years our culture has told us that we are incomplete until we are married (think Jerry Maguire). Unfortunately, the church has been complicit. While marriage is good and should be pursued, it is not necessary to fully living out a Spirit-led, Christian life. This overemphasis has left those who are single in the church feeling insignificant. This week Pastor Leonce unpacks Paul's encouragement to singles from 1 Corinthians 7. There is significance in singleness.

1 Corinthians 7:7-8

There is no greater dichotomy than an angry servant of Christ. In the scriptures Paul gives us this view into what it means to always be joyful in serving. While this seems to be a naive reality, considering the world in which we live in. Paul proclaims that He has joy despite even the worst of circumstances. Through these words Pastor Leonce challenges us to see our lives through the lens in which Paul sees his life.

Philippians 2:12-18

This week Ralph Gordon continues our series with the question, "What makes someone famous?" This is an important question, because deep inside all of us is the desire to be known, to be famous. This desire seemingly works against the desire to serve. Being a servant and being famous are not normally synonyms, except in the case of Jesus. In fact, the Scriptures tell us that it is because of His service that God made Him famous.

"The Most Famous Person Ever, Was The Greatest Servant Ever."

The religious leaders of Jesus day sent a Roman solider to apprehend him for questioning. When he returned empty handed, he responded by saying, "No one has ever spoken like this man." This scene gives us an insight into what happens when people encounter Jesus and his claims. This is where we find ourselves as we continue our series in the book of John. Pastor Ralph Gordon shows us the three possible responses when encountering the truth of Jesus.
