  • This House Will Stand | Pastor Chris Kouba

What you build your life on determines what you can build with your life.
In this powerful message from Joshua 24:14–15, Pastor Chris Kouba challenges us to draw a line in the sand and make a clear decision: “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” This isn’t just about finances — it’s about foundation, obedience, and allegiance.

For five weeks, we’ve been dreaming about what God could do through the United building renovation. But dreams don’t build buildings — and intentions don’t build kingdom impact. Just like a city inspects a foundation before approving renovation plans, God examines the foundation of our lives before building something new.

    In this message, you’ll discover:
Why everyone has to choose whom they will serve
How your financial decisions shape your spiritual foundation
The difference between building on rock vs. sand
Why delayed obedience is still disobedience
How generosity grows from spontaneous giving to legacy impact
Using a powerful illustration of a bicycle — from just a tire to a fully equipped electric bike — Pastor Chris walks us through the Path of Generosity:
    • Spontaneous Giving
    • Continuous Giving
    • Priority Giving
    • Strategic Giving
    • Legacy Giving

Where are you on the journey? More importantly — where is God calling you to be?

This message is a call to move from intention to declaration. From dreaming to deciding. From holding parts to riding the bike.

“As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” — Book of Joshua 24:15

  • Everyone Has a Next Step… in Their Giving | Pastor Chris Kouba

Have you ever thought, “I’m good. I give. I’ve arrived”?

In this message from Mark 12:41–44, Pastor Chris Kouba unpacks the powerful story of the widow’s two coins—and challenges everything we assume about generosity.

Jesus sat down and watched people give. Not to judge their amount… but to reveal their heart.

In a culture that measures generosity by size, Jesus measures it by sacrifice.

As part of our Blueprint series, this message reminds us that spiritual growth is never a destination—it’s a direction. Just like parenting, athletics, or building a home, you never “arrive.” The same is true in your giving.

    In this message, you’ll discover:

    • Why God sees what you give (and why that matters)
    • How God measures sacrifice, not size
    • Why you never “arrive” in generosity
    • The giving progression—and how to identify your next step
    • How the widow’s offering points directly to the Gospel

Whether you’ve never given, give occasionally, tithe consistently, or give strategically—everyone has a next step.

Next week is Commitment Sunday, and this is your opportunity to respond in faith.

But before you make a commitment… ask God:
    “What’s my next step?”

Because generosity isn’t about what God wants from you.
It’s about what He wants for you.

And ultimately, our giving flows from the greatest gift ever given—Jesus Christ, who gave everything so we could have life.

  • Funny Math | Pastor Chris Kouba

Message from Pastor Chris Kouba | Sunday February 8,  2026.

What do ten frames, sale math, and “guy math” all have in common? They don’t always add up. And that’s exactly where this message begins.
In this week’s message from Malachi 3:6–10, we explore what might be the funniest math of all—God’s math. In His economy, 90% with God’s blessing goes further than 100% without it. It doesn’t make sense on paper, but it changes everything in practice.
As part of our Blueprint series, this message looks at why the tithe isn’t about funding the church—it’s about forming the heart. Jesus said where your treasure is, your heart will follow, and how we handle money reveals what we truly believe about God.
    You’ll hear:

Why money is a spiritual issue, not just a financial one

How generosity is a journey—from spontaneous to legacy giving

Why fear-based stewardship leads to stagnation

What it really means to “test God” in Malachi 3

How giving creates space for God to move in ways math can’t explain

This isn’t a prosperity pitch, and God isn’t a vending machine. But He does invite us to trust Him, put Him first, and build our lives on a foundation that lasts.
If you’ve ever felt stressed, confused, or stuck when it comes to finances—or wondered if God’s way actually works—this message is for you.
    📖 Scripture References:
    Malachi 3:6–10
    Matthew 6:19–21
    Proverbs 3:9–10
    Matthew 25
    Acts 20:35
👉 The question is simple: What foundation are you building on—the world’s math or God’s math?

    Thanks for listening!

  • The Exchange Zone | Pastor Chris Kouba | United City Church

What happens when a generation drops the baton?
In the 2021 Olympic 4x100 relay, Team USA had the fastest runners on the track—but they lost the race because they failed in the exchange zone. That moment changed everything. And Psalm 78 tells us the same is true spiritually.

In this message, The Exchange Zone, we look at God’s blueprint for passing faith from one generation to the next. Asaph writes Psalm 78 after watching a generation forget the Lord—and he is determined to make sure it never happens again.

This sermon challenges two groups with two responsibilities:
Those who are passing the baton to prioritize, position, and invest in the next generation.  Those who are receiving the baton to grab it with humility and run with it boldly.

    We explore:

Why the exchange zone determines the outcome of the race

Biblical examples of both faithful and failed handoffs

How United City is intentionally building for the next generation

What it means to let our ceiling become their floor

Why this moment matters right now for the future of the church

This is part of our Blueprint series, where we’re laying the foundation for
what God is building in our church and in our lives.

    📖 Scripture: Psalm 78:1–8
🏁 Message Title: The Exchange Zone
Whether you’re older or younger, this message calls all of us to action—because the next generation is here, they’re ready, and the exchange zone is now.

👉 If this message encouraged you, share it and help pass the baton.

  • The Antidote to Rage Baiting | Pastor Chris Kouba

We live in a world designed to keep us angry.
Algorithms reward outrage. Headlines provoke division. Comment sections fuel hostility.
The culture has a name for it: rage bait.
But long before rage bait existed, Jesus prayed for an antidote.

Message from Pastor Chris Kouba | Sunday January 18,  2026.

In this powerful message from John 17:20–26, Pastor Chris Kouba walks through Jesus’ final recorded prayer—the night before the cross—and reveals His deepest priority for His followers: unity.

This message is part of our Signal Strength series and speaks directly into our divided, polarized moment. Jesus doesn’t pray for comfort, influence, or control. He prays that His people would be one—so compellingly united that the world would believe.

    In this message, you’ll discover:
Why unity is our witness to the world
How real unity is built on truth, not preferences
Why unity must be centered on Jesus, not causes
How Christian unity becomes a powerful form of evangelism
What it looks like to live united in a culture engineered to divide

This message also connects to our current season of prayer and fasting:
🕊 Fasting: Sundown Jan. 18th  through Sunup next Sunday
    🎶 Worship Night – January 21

In a world driven by outrage, Jesus offers a better way.
    Not rage. Not retreat. Unity.

If you’re looking for hope, clarity, or a faith that actually speaks into today’s chaos—this message is for you.

  • What You Actually Need This Year | Pastor Chris Kouba

As a new year begins, many of us set resolutions hoping life will get better—more health, more money, less stress. But what if the things we’re asking for aren’t what we actually need?

Message from Pastor Chris Kouba | Sunday January 11,  2026.

In this message, Pastor Chris Kouba walks through John 17:6–19, one of the most intimate moments in Scripture—Jesus praying out loud for His followers. Instead of asking for comfort, success, or easier circumstances, Jesus prays for something far deeper: who we are becoming.

This sermon is part of our Signal Strength series, focusing on aligning our prayers with God’s heart—not just asking Him to move, but allowing Him to shape us from the inside out.

    In this message, you’ll discover:
Why Jesus prays for character over circumstances
How real transformation happens through God’s Word and truth
Why following Jesus is about mission over more
What Jesus believes you actually need this year

This message also kicks off our season of prayer:
    📖 21 Days of Prayer
🔥 Week of Prayer & Fasting begins January 18
    🎶 Worship Night – January 21

Whether you’re watching online, joining us through the Pando app, or searching for clarity and direction in a new year, this message will challenge and encourage you to pray differently—and live differently.
If you’re ready to take a next step in your faith, we’d love to walk with you.

  • Upward Signal | Pastor Jason Mick

As we begin a new year and launch 21 Days of Prayer, Pastor Jason Mick invites us to look at prayer through the lens of alignment. Using John 17:1–5, this message reminds us that weak prayer isn’t about distance from God, but direction toward Him. Learn how Jesus models prayer that starts with God’s glory, reshapes our perspective, and realigns our hearts with His purpose. This message sets the tone for a season of seeking God with lifted eyes and aligned hearts.

  • Second Wave | Pastor Josh Thomas

What do you do when life feels confusing, disappointing, or just plain strange?
As we step into a brand-new year, this message is all about encouragement—the kind that doesn’t just make you feel better, but actually strengthens your soul.

Message from Pastor Josh Thomas | Sunday December 28, 2025.

Drawing from powerful moments in film, the psychology of encouragement, and the life of Daniel, we’re reminded that encouragement has real weight, real power, and eternal impact.

Just like Simba hearing, “Remember who you are,” God’s Word calls us to remember who He is—especially when nothing around us seems to change.

In this message, we walk through three defining seasons in Daniel’s life and uncover three truths you can carry into the new year:
God Will Sustain You – When obedience is costly and compromise is close
God Will Keep You – When faith leads you into the fire, not away from it
God Will Protect You – When long-term faithfulness puts a target on your back

From Babylonian captivity to fiery furnaces to the lions’ den, Daniel’s story isn’t just about a faithful man—it’s about a faithful God who walks with His people through every season of life.

    Thanks for listening!

  • The Baby Born To Die | Pastor Chris Kouba

    Why was Jesus really born?
This Christmas message looks beyond the manger to the cross and answers one of the most important questions anyone can ask: How do I know if I am saved?

In Hebrews 10:10–18, we discover that Christmas and Easter cannot be separated. The baby born in Bethlehem was born with a clear, eternal purpose—to offer Himself as the once-for-all sacrifice for sin. From the sacrificial system of the Old Testament to Jesus sitting down at the right hand of God, this passage shows us the finished work of Christ and the assurance it brings to believers.

In this message, “The Baby Born to Die,” we explore:

    • Trust (Past): Jesus’ sacrifice was complete, sufficient, and final
    • Evidence (Present): The Holy Spirit actively working in the life of every believer
    • Confidence (Future): God’s promise to finish what He started and keep His people forever

If you’ve ever struggled with doubt, questioned your salvation, or wondered whether your faith is “real enough,” this message offers biblical clarity, gospel hope, and unshakable assurance rooted not in what we do—but in what Christ has already done.

Whether you are a new believer, returning to faith, or seeking confidence in your salvation, this sermon reminds us that Jesus was born to die so that we could truly live.

    📖 Key Scriptures:

    • Hebrews 10:10–18
    • Matthew 1:21
    • Isaiah 9:6–7
    • John 6:37–39
    • John 10:27–28
    • Romans 8:38–39
    • Philippians 1:6

🎄 This Christmas, discover the true meaning of hope, peace, and assurance—found in the finished work of Jesus Christ.
