Hello Move Nation! Today’s podcast is all about journeys, transformation, and transition. I’m talking with Coach Kerri Dobo about self-identifying and her journey through changes in body composition with nutrition. Her decision to start CrossFit back in 2017 and her rather quick transition from a beginner, to a top athlete in the gym, and then to a leader as a Coach at Move and what it’s like going from being a peer to a position of authority. Please give it a listen on your favorite Podcast platform!

Today we flip the script. Babz Jewell puts Jonathan in the hot seat and drills down on all of the topics we normally ask other Move members. We discuss how I got started with CrossFit and how the gym was founded back in 2008. We talk about my thoughts on self image and dealing with priorities as they relate to fitness and LIFE in general. We also dig into the mental game and how that may be more important than ever.

Leslie has been a member of Move Functional Fitness on and off since she first did her Fundamentals course way back in 2011. A series of life events brought her to refocus her efforts on her personal health and fitness with me at the end of 2019, just before undergoing surgery for a liver transplant. We discuss exercise, priorities and goal setting, what it's like to be a single mom of an adopted teenager, and much more!

Joe and I have a long history, going back to my freshman year in High School, 1996. As the Decatur High wrestling coach and Chemistry/Physics teacher, I trained with Joe and studied under him my Senior year. We later met up when this whole CrossFit thing blew up and continued our friendship and training and coaching, this time our roles were reversed though! In this episode, we discuss what those early days of training were like for Joe and how his training has changed now that he's set his sights on the CrossFit Games Masters Division. He has some great insight on goal setting and mindset as well.
**** This Podcast wouldn't be possible without the support and encouragement of all of the great people of Move Functional Fitness. I particularly appreciate the support and expertise of babz jewell and her interview guidance.
Jonathan chats with Move Coach Trista Highfill! This was a great conversation. Trista has a wealth of experience and discusses her early days of CrossFit and how it prepared her mentally and physically for the challenges of facing cancer, making health and fitness a priority, what it means to be a coach, and coaching women to discover their true strength in fitness.
Jonathan chats with Coach Eddie, aka DFly, about how he started with CrossFit and Move Functional Fitness, keeping his health and fitness a priority, and navigating new demands in his job as a Nurse Practitioner.
