If I asked you what was one of the most common Bible verses that has ever been quoted, do you think you could guess it? As some of you are quoting John 3:16 right now, that’s not the verse I’m thinking about. How about this one found at Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Him (Christ) who strengthens me.” Athletes all around the world lay claim to this verse. Whether it’s a friend group, friends, co-workers, Bible study groups, we have a built in social desire to be with others. God created us for community! Man, it is Christmas! We are full throttle in the Christmas and New Year traditions! For many of us it truly is our favorite time of the year, but for others, not so much. As we gather this week with family, friends, co-workers and others, may we carry with us the “Why” of Christmas. Let’s not get distracted from all the glitter and glam, instead, may we look to our greatest need - Jesus. He is the “why” of Christmas.
