Most people think recovering from an injury is about getting back to where they were.
But I think that's aiming too low.
Today, I completed my first upper-body workout this year without once thinking about my injured shoulder.
No pain.
No need to scale anything back.
And for the first time in months, I felt like I had much more in the tank.
That's when the real challenge started.
My ego wanted me to test my shoulder.
Go heavier.
See what I could do.
But I had to remind myself...
I'm not here to test my shoulder. I'm here to build it.
In this episode, I explain why patience may be the most important part of rehabilitation.
I also explain why constantly testing an injury creates the frustrating cycle of two steps forward and three steps backwards.
But this episode is about something much bigger than shoulder rehab.
It's about why we train.
Because training doesn't just build strength, muscle, or flexibility.
It builds patience, discipline, resilience, and confidence.
It teaches you that you can set yourself a difficult goal, keep showing up, and eventually achieve it.
And those lessons carry into every other part of your life.
If you're dealing with an injury right now, don't judge your future by what your body can do today.
Think about what could be possible 12 months from now.
Click play, and I'll explain what I mean.
