Being in the belly of the whale wasn’t easy for a reluctant prophet named Jonah, but when he finally surfaced, his vision and mission so activated him that he went towards the very place he had dreaded to go. Come and join us as we identify the places within which we are doing our best to avoid, and prepare to make loving friends with a very sweet whale named “depression”. 

Now the Lord had prepared a great fish, and it swallowed up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.- Jonah 1: 17

Gary Simmons, the masterful author of The I of the Storm, writes: “Your real purpose is not about getting your way or about being right.” In these extraordinary and constantly shifting times, we may be reaching for security by “being right”, and name that as our purpose. Of course, there is a greater security available to us when give up being right so that we can be Love. For while we have been taught that we are made in God’s image, it is also true that we conceive of a God in our image. If, like many Americans, we are feeling that our freedoms are being taken away during this ongoing Pandemic, then our God is not free. If, like many Americans, we are feeling afraid to say what we mean and mean what we say, then our God is not free. Come and join us as we soar beyond a limited concept of both ourselves and God, slipping past the bond of the world!

"Resistance is Fertile" by Rev. Carolyn Swift Jones

We have been taught in the New Thought Movement that “what we resist, persists”, and this is true at the level of our conscious awareness. However, there are times when it becomes necessary to be proactive and stand up against a status quo that would casually endorse systemic abuse. Come and join us for a deep dive into what peaceful resistance means for those on the spiritual path of One-ness. 

 Then the king of Egypt spoke to the Hebrew midwives, one of whom was named Shiphrah and the other was named Puah; and he said, “When you are helping the Hebrew women to give birth and see them upon the birthstool, if it is a son, then you shall put him to death; but if it is a daughter, then she shall live.” But the midwives feared God, and did not do as the king of Egypt had commanded them, but let the boys live. – Exodus 1: 15-17

"Love Them All"

It’s easy to love those who love us in return. But if we desire to consciously demonstrate the One-ness we are, we’ve got to love them all – both the ones that trouble us and the ones that delight us. This can be easier said than done, until we develop a reliable technique that helps us gradually open our capacity to Love in ways we perhaps could not even imagine.  Come and join us as we engage in a heart expanding exercise of loving, one small step at a time. Have no fear - Love will lead the way!

If you have ever taken the subway in London - (or “The Tube”, as it is referred to across the pond) - you will have heard a pleasant voice over the speaker system saying, “Mind the Gap.” It’s a phrase that is used to remind people to take care while they are crossing the vertical gap between the subway door and the station platform. Come and join us for a celebratory exploration of what it means when we both Mind and Mine the gaps in our awareness. For surely, what draws us forward is the knowing that we are climbing aboard a Peace Train, and something Good has begun!

When the world turned upside down for Peter, he slipped back into an old habit and denied the appearance of Love three times. But the sweet offer of breakfast on the beach brought him back to his senses. Come and join us as we explore what it means to cut each other a ton of slack during these harrowing times. Let’s be sweet to one another. Let’s make each other breakfast.
