Welcome to this week’s Unity Through Diversity, The special guest of this week is: Marlana Cork, Director of Workforce Development, Bay Area Chamber of Commerce.

I got to meet Marlana through one of the group events I held in my sacred space, and the first time I met her, I knew she has this beautiful light within her that guiding her through her life on all levels.

In this podcast, Marlana shared her childhood life, her career path, her family life, her deepest desire in community building… and more.

To help you know more about Marlana, below is short intro about Marlana:

Marlana is a lifelong resident of Saginaw County. She is a graduate of Davenport University, where she received her Associates, Bachelors and Masters Degree with a dual major in Business Administration/Business Management. She also holds a Workforce Development certification as a Global Career Development Facilitator.

Following her passion, over the last 14 years, Marlana has served in several capacities in Workforce Development in the GLB Region. She currently is the Director of Workforce Development with the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce.

Marlana and her husband Charles have been married for 19 years; they have three sons-Trenton, Charles II, and Caleb, and one grandson Trenton Jr. She is also very active with her church (Ephesus Seventh-Day AdventistChurch) sorority (Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.), and volunteering within the community.

Welcome to this episode of Unity Through Diversity, this week's guest is Eric Shevchenko, I met him back in 2022 summer time at the Midland's farmer's market. First time meeting him through some short conversations, I know this man has story, and I wanted to bring him to the podcast.

Eric has a very unique background that deeply related to his family history that he honors dearly and deeply. Eric is the owner of Old World Farm LLC, I got chance to tour his farm after the podcast recording. He has some really unique and cute pig breed called: Mangalista, its a Hungarian breed of domestic pig. It was developed in the mid-19th century by crossbreeding breeds from the nearby Romanian Salonta and Hungarian Bakony with the European wild boar and the Serbian Sumadija Breed.

We are living in the blood of our ancestors, we are bringing family history forward to make sense of it, so we can free ourselves and move forward in this life time.

For this special season, we interviewed young teenagers age from 15 to 18 years old, some of them are born and raised in United States and their parents are American and some of them are born and raised in United States but their parents are first generation immigrants, some of them are born and raised in other country, but moved to United States when they were very young and some of them are born here in United States and raised back in China for couple years and they just came back to United States few years ago. 

so each of them are very unique and Have a very dynamic family background. 

In those episodes we are going to dive into some unique traits in generation Z including communication styles, hobbies, culture shocks, their perspective and views of current Society, their identities, their struggles and how they prefer parents and community to support them better in the way that works best for them.
