I spent a lot of time meditating on my own journey with accountability. For me it was never about "taking" accountability but executing on that accountability internally. I own my own life, but you are the best Bull S****** you know and that's true for everyone. It's the universal truth associated with being and it's a fundamental component of our ability to own our lives.

This has been a really raw week. Wanting to end it with a little bit of fun and a deep reflection on some content which is super fun for my friends and I. John Wick, The Baba Yega is the epitome of Accountability and it's a special thing to be able to reflect on this series. This is one of those times when we get to look back and wonder if the reflection is the unintended consequence of the creator's vision. Something tells me that the large part of this was planned and designed.

We need to pull back and take some time to recognize our own responsibility to the very freedom that we seek. We ask for freedom, but don't pour every bit of energy into the ultimate freedom... Put simply, all we need to do is take absolute accountability for EVERY. SINGLE. COMPONENT. OF. OUR. LIVES.

It's painful, it's difficult, and it's often impossible... There's a light at the end of the tunnel and that light is the absolute freedom we seek. Don't let anyone else take ownership of you, no matter how bad your "hand", it's yours... That's you!

I promise the title isn't clickbait... We have some real problems in our society. One of them is the word "racist" and the meta narrative surrounding it. It's a limiting narrative that hurts minorities the most. Another is that so much energy is being put into the word that we aren't focused on the systems which we can improve for the most oppressed among us. Perspective is perspective and there's nothing that can be "given" to change a perspective. We have to chose the perspective we want. While making that choice, however, we can also choose to put time, energy, and resources into systems and force those who lead us to put their resources into those same systems. One thing we can't argue with is that the systems aren't equal and it's our collective responsibility to take accountability for making them so...

Week 2 and the topic at hand is accountability. This topic is of fundamental importance. Really excited for this week. There's a lot of difficult things built into the topic for this week, but there's also one VERY important reality. That is, freedom, true freedom, is the result of accountability. Without it we can't be free as we are subject to our own mental prisons.

The format for Friday's is a little different, team. The podcast will sound much more like a stream of conscious. In fact, that's exactly what it is. Going to take some time today to reflect on my own personal journey with EQ. Specifically, going to give some insights into what I've learned, and failed at, in trying to grow my level of EQ. This is pretty vulnerable, let's see how it works. Enjoy.

Thursdays we get to talk about Unity as it is represented in our art. No doubt we are going to stick with this week's theme of EQ developed by establishing understanding. Lucifer, the Netflix original, has a really good example of Unity. Most importantly, it's the perfect example of empathy and understanding. Let's dive in team!

One of my favorite topics. One of the most important topics. EQ is misunderstood and IQ is over emphasized. Unfortunately, this makes building teams really hard. Let's discuss how incorporating EQ is fundamental to the formation of teams and the building of Unity.

Maybe there is a society that we can all get behind... Here's a thought on what it looks like.

Regardless of the proposed society, we have to get back to an understanding of EQ. We must allow ourselves to operate at the intersection between EQ and IQ. We need to shift our perspective to allow integration of both empathy and understanding while also calibrating our expectations for leaders as they set the tone for all of us...
